Plugging in my mobile phone

Featured Replies

Hi

After the insurance company scrapped my beloved Fabia classic I went out and bought a 51 plate Fabia Elegance TDI. The manual says the car has a handsfree kit fitted (confirmed - there is a rectangular plug under the dashboard by the glovebox). I contacted my local Skoda dealer who quoted over £320 for the adaptor! Does this sound right? I don't want to buy a phone just plug my existing phone in or do these things cost that much because it's wired into the car? Would be interested to know if this is right and why.

Yeah and you will only be able to get them for ancient handsets.

Get a Parrot. PM me if you want a deal on a 9200.

or a mutant MT2300BT - It's a replacement stereo headunit, can get one from ebay for about £60 - allows bluetooth hands free calls via the cars speakers and has an external mic, also plays streaming music over bluetooth as well as cd, mp3/wma, has usb and a memory card reader!

I fitted mine today, It seems pretty good for the money... so far!
