What would you spend money on?

Featured Replies

Okay guys, I got a nice payout today from a recent crash I had last year.

So - part of it is paying off car insurance & holiday, the rest is going on the car - £1500 worth.

I have a good few ideas in my head, but I want to spend the £1500 wisely on the car so what would you do?

Miltek Cat Back (non resonated)

Forge DV

Remap - Recommendations?

What else do you recommend?

Luke

What do you have fitted now?

In order

Neuspeed 28MM RARB £240

Replacement panel filter £35

Superpro full bushed Dogbone mount bushes £55

Milltek Turbo back exhaust £700

TIP £100

Suspension £450-£600 depending on your ride preference

Do these before the remap.

I have just a panel filter, it's been RR'd at 184bhp so I know my start point.

I was thinking of getting everything done before the remap too.

Whiteline RARB 22mm adj £160 (unless you want to go larget Front ARB)do yourself

Powerflex Dogbone Bush £15iirc do yourself

TIP £65-£125 Depending where you get one from. check my sig could do yourself

SuperPRO Wishbone bushes £100ish get fitted

Weitec GT coilovers £450ish (dont set them too low or it will feel like crap and tbh it doesnt handle that well neither if you do std ride hight ish on the rear and slightly lower on the front  )Fit yourself

SuperPro Rear beam bushes £90ish (fit yourself)

Zorst, Custom made depending on your locakion or Miltec or others £ 650+

then a custom Remap depending on location (RS Tuning Leeds is good mate  ) £450 ish

thats the kind of order Ide go for. then with Pauls map you can get it tweeked for a small fee later on.

italic ones not needed right away. can wait imo

id go a and blow it on a clutch , smf and dif :giggle:

after that things get cheaper and easier to get bit by bit , that way any power you start building up can get put down ;)

just go gt a remap and then have a think

On face value this is crazy, but I do completely agree!!!

Save the money for an holiday, put It towards a better car or pay off some of your mortgage (If you have one).

The on going problems & never ending spending I've had over the last year with mine would never had happened If I hadn't started modifying In the first place  .

Agree with Oz, save your cash but get a remap as it's by far the best power mod.

P.s If you do get the remap do your home work and avoid maps with stupid ass boost.

Hmmm cheers for opinions guys.

I'm thinking just remap/miltek exhaust for performance wise.

then do all the stuff like HIDs, Double DIN headunit, component speakers, upgrated powerflex bushes.

depends what you want, i always do handling first with brakes then power, i have done a lot to my handling and the car is so much better than standard, power is always good but without handling its useless, i hated the way mine handled from standard, the power exceeded the cars capabilities by far.

as said, colies, diff/atb ARB and polybushes are a good start!

I would get reamap from what I've read, possible an uprated DV as well.

I'd put the money to one side to cover car maintenence....

why increase power before the car can handle it????

an absolute must is the ARB, and frankly the suspension too at the least, then look at a remap,

unless you want a car that is good in a straight line but not much else

what he said

Defo get the solid TT wishbone bushes and powerflex/superpro dogbone mount. They make a massive difference. The dogbone mount lets you put the power down more smoothly.

Had the APR trial map installed, as you know, but I just got the wheels hopping if I put my foot down too much. The stock engine mountings etc can't properly cope with it.
