Spraying Grille Surround

Featured Replies

I apologise that ya think it's 'uncool'. I have had severe depression over the past few months which started over 2 years ago when my mum had cancer. I started smoking dope and easily spent £3,500 on it over 6 months but I've stopped now.. I seriously felt down over other personal issues (family/girlfriend stuff) and my choice of car, I considered selling it since I was so down about it. I lost my job as well as being a student and ideally I would have sold it and bought the vRS in red but I can't afford the insurance, or the car now. (Baring in mind I'm actually 18.)

I've been planning on doing little things to my car to make me feel better bout stuff, every time I have an 'attack' of depression I just go polish it to take my mind off it. I don't really care if the badge makes it 'seriously uncool' seeing as Skodas are still a laughing stock around where I live (not that I care), I just want to make myself feel better about everything.

Ok, that was a bit of a heavy reply to an innocent comment............

I'm sorry about your problems in your personal life and hope you and your family are well.

Good choice to focus on doing something positive to help you through it and by the looks of things you're doing a good job with your car but...... do you really think the vRS badge makes it look good? You know it's not a vRS, and so does everyone who knows anything about cars. What do you think it adds?

From a personal point of view when I see a normal car badged as the range toppig version (be it a 1.2 badged as a vRS or a 318 badged as an M3) I just think it looks tacky and like they are trying to brag about something they don't even have!

Why be ashamed of the car you actually drive, why pretend it's a different model?

Just my opinion though, and if you like it then thats all that matters

Are the mirrors black too? Looks good, but as above, loose the vrs badge imo

Matt

+1 on the vRS badge, if it makes you feel any better.. people do spend silly money to buy porsche rims etc.. ;) Aesthetically nice but removing the badge is MUCH nicer imo.. :giggle:

I can see the badging thing both ways. If I had a 3.6l v6 superb, I'd like the badge removed or maybe even put a 1.4tsi badge on it, so I can both surprise people and not get people trying to race me. OTOH I can see not having enough wonga for insurance etc for a better car and adding bits to make it look better can be cool too (unfortunately I'm more in the latter group until I win the lottery  ).

. I don't really care if the badge makes it 'seriously uncool'

And nor should you mate.

If you want to stick a strawberry cheesecake to your grille then my attitude is "hey why not??"

If it makes you happy mate then just do it...

Nothing to be depressed about owning a Skoda...

You could own a Ford. Then things would really be dire :D

I think it just fills a black void with some needed colour. Who cares whether it is that or not, at least i've not stuck it to a skip claiming it was a Skoda! Oh.. wait... Haha. On a side note, I almost bought the Mk6 Ford Fiesta Zetec S.
