Any release dates for Octy II vRS (or equivalent)?

Featured Replies

I was told yesterday by my new employers that I can't order my new car until my 3 month probationary period has ended, which made me panic a bit.

I'm quite happy to keep on using the Saab for a while longer, and the money in lieu will come in handy after christmas, but I'm getting a little worried that the vRS hatch I have my heart set on will have been replaced by then, by a new version I won't be able to afford.

Basically, the vRS is at the top end of my monthly allowance on the fleet list, and I think that the replacement will be out of my reach. If i was sure that the existing model would still be available in march/april, then i can rest easy, but if not, I'll get my director to push things along and get the car ordered earlier.

Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but I couldn't find it if it has.

According to reports there won't be a new RS until en dof 2005 beginning 2006. Even if it was to be replaced at the beginning of next year I'm sure you'd still be able to order a new current RS.

Thanks Adrian.

I can sit back and enjoy chistmas now. ;)

Just be prepared for a long wait if you spec it with xenon headlights!!!

I ordered mine back in August and it still hasn't arrived yet.

I did notice that Skoda had revamped their website though with some new pictures including some of the current RS so it looks as though they intend to produce it for a long while yet :)

End of 2005. The ones already built (for testing and demos in Czech) are 2.0 FSI Turbos with at least 225 :D

Read somewhere they would be on sale in Dec 2005 .Any pointers to the info about the 225 figure and any significant shows coming up when it might be properly revealed?

Is this for real or simply to fool Autocar once again?

And still only with FWD?

and no sign of a Diesel vRS?

what car estimating

My dealer told me Nov 2005 (ie this year), in 2.0 FSI, putting around 230 horses.

current top gear magazine quoting DEC 2005 for octy vRS in their list of new models for this year.

And still with only[/b'] FWD?

Now now Mattijs.. don't mock them ;)

Its definiatly December 2005.

I've heard from a reliable source! New Octavia vRS is due early 2006, 2.0 FSI, 200 bhp as per Golf GTi (no surprise there). The word is that it's slightly 'wilder' in the looks department than the current vRS, lowered (obviously) and running on 18" rims. I've also heard that it may have wider wheel arches - Subaru Impreza style maybe? and slightly bigger spoilers front and rear, generally speaking, a real head turner.

I hope your right :) , as my order will definitely be going in for one if its as you describe :D

Sounds good - except the 200 BHP. The bar has been raised by other manufacturers, and I won't settle for less than 225.

However, until we have official word, it's all just speculation.

Can't say too much but; I know of a 2.0 FSi engine that's been remapped successfully already. Seems the potential is for around 250bhp and close to 300lb ft.

Also, the wide arch look as described may be something similar to the rally version of the current Fabia.

Heard as well that there is an Octavia Sport coming out this year, probably only 150bhp and more mild than wild.

All very nice but as you say it is just speculation at the moment.
