Heated windscreen and sunglasses help required

Featured Replies

I wasn't really sure where to put this as it refers to the Superb that is available with a heated windscreen (but i assume other models are too?)

My dilemma is i would ideally like a heated windscreen in my ordered Superb Combi, BUT i have been told that heated windscreens and polarised sunglasses/glasses are not compatible with each other, now i know from experience with a heated Ford windscreen that you can just about see the elements, (this is without polarised lenses) this i have no problem with, however as i have just spent out far too much money on prescription polarised sunglasses (i wish i had done it years ago) i am not prepared to compromise on the lenses.

So i am after advise on users of polarised lenses who also have a heated windscreen, all the side and rear windows have a 'coloured pattern' in the glass when viewed through polarised lenses (mine are the darkest, almost black lenses) that is not visible with non polarised lenses (see photo's for an example). Now a std laminated windscreen is perfectly clear with both polarised and normal lenses, but what is a heated windscreen like viewed through polarised lenses???

I know the one i test drove didn't have one fitted but that will be my next thing to do if all else fails emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I drive a mini with a heated screen with polarised sun glasses and never have a problem.

You can sometimes see the plastic marks as above in other cars rear windscreens, but I've never had a problem with heated screens in any car with my glasses.

Worth taking a look at it yourself and see what's what for you as the lines can be distracting at night or in bright sunlight.
