Another sick V6

Featured Replies

My V6 Superb has been locked away in the Skoda repair shop since last Friday with an apparent problem with the "fuel cooler"??

This manifests itself as a small rattle at tickover that disappears as revs rise above 1200rpm, but the dealer does not seem to know exactly what the issue is or how to resolve it.

In a call late today I'm told they are now seeking another V6 to compare it with :S

More news tomorrow hopefully....

That's weird Geoff as I had a rattle coming from mine on idle. It was more noticeable inside the car and I thought it was coming from the right hand side of the dash. It disappeared as soon as there was the slightest load under throttle. I showed James at Allams but he thought it was coming from underneath the car. Fortunately it SEEMS to have gone though nothing has been done to it. Perhaps mine was a "different" rattle!!

Under direction of Skoda UK, this was resolved by my dealer refitting a fuel line and the problem (which was intermittent) appears to have gone. Skoda kept the car for 3 days until this was resolved as they were concerned that a fuel component was the cause of the problem so you may want to pursue this further if you have the same rattle...

It sounded to me like it was coming from the bottom of the b-pillar. I'm glad it's gone!

Now the weather cooled down again see if it comes back.
