Another dealer bites the dust...

Featured Replies

I don't know if it has been covered before, but my local dealer, Mill Hill Garage in March has now gone to Daihatsu. They are still acting as an independent service shop for Skoda, but their showroom and facilities obviously weren't up to Skoda's new standards.

Just visited ALS Autos in Little Dowhnam today - another example of a very courteous, helpful dealership. They spent 20 minutes or more testing my car and trying to trace a problem, and even put it up on the ramps. They didn't charge me a penny for labour. Mind you, I did buy a pair of wiper blades from them for the princely sum of

Skoda going to Daihatsu... Will be more and more happening, the way Skoda is forcing dealerships to 'coordinate'.

I think 'assimilate' might be nearer the truth... :D

Tavistock Motors in Ampthill is now a Diahastu dealer also.

Couldnt re-develop to meet Skoda's latest specs and brand image.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find Skoda UK's "brand image" obsession a bit of a joke?

Ok, the more enlightened car buyer (like wot we are on Briskoda) buys them because they're a damn good motor, but there's no way a flash showroom is going to alter the opinion of the sort of person who still makes Skoda jokes...

Agree 100% , but it isn't Skoda UK , it's VAG , it applies to VW , Audi , Seat and Skoda .

True enough, all Audi, VW and SEAT garages are all going through the same facelifts.

Anyone been to the new Audi dealership in Glasgow yet. If they can spend that much on a dealership, their cars are WAY overpriced
