Its best to have a separate. I have always used Autoglym bodywork car shampoo with great results :)

I am not even sure that the sort of product your after exists? Why would you want a Shampoo with Polish in?

Washing and Polishing are completely different stages...............

Do you mean a Shampoo with a Wax in it?

This is where I get confused, whats the difference between polishing and waxing?

Polishing is the process of improving / renovating paintwork by applying polish to it. It can bring back dulled paintwork to a better finish or remove scratches and swirl marks or simply give it more shine - depending on which product and how much pressure is applied etc.

Waxing is when you apply a wax to the polished/finished paintwork to offer it some protection from the elements etc and in some cases added additional shine/gloss.

Like what Thirdtimeluck said hehe

Get yourself down to Halfords and get some Meguiars NXT or Gold class shampoo. Its £16 a 2 litre bottle but they are currently running a BOGOF! I've reserved 4 bottles (2 of each) so that should see me through the next few years with that and my snow foam!!

Damn it, I've not long since bought 3 bottles of Gold Class on the 3 for 2.

I use Megs Gold Class weekly, because it lubricates and foams so nicely, but occasionally I quickly go over the car again once the bulk of the dirt is off with Autoglym shampoo. It doesn't lubricate very well at all but it does seem to remove some marks that don't come off with the Gold Class. It also somehow seems to leave the surface looking slightly glossier (god knows how).

Gold Class works really well, I still have a bottle left from the Halfrauds last 3 for 2 offer, but may as well stock a bit more in for the Gayboy Eco Chariot and the Toni & Guy Special.

Right, lift the hosepipe ban please NW Water, there be cars and bikes to clean :)

no hosepipe ban in 'yam yam' land! The NXT stuff is what i've been using for the last few years but will be able to compare to the Gold class stuff when i get mine at the weekend... will keep you posted with the results.

As Megs NXT and Gold Class have been mentioned, my recommendation would be Megs Gold Class, more expensive but a more lubricated product which is what you want from a Shampoo and not loads of bubbles...........

Looks like I am heading to my parents to wash the car at the weekend mate :)

NXT always worked well and seemed really good on dark colours, but found that the gold class is really really slick, it feals great to use (ooooeeeeer). Baker is the expert though, I am just progressing on from dry sand scrubbing my cars (and motorbikes)

Although off topic this is an interesting set of questions especially as you mention Auto Express..........there is a discussion on Detailing World at the moment about Auto Expresses review on Clay Bars and what it deems to be the best, this is mainly calculated as 'Value for Money' being one of the key factor's where in reality this does not soley decide on the product being the 'best'.

'The best' of anything is going to be subject to people's opinions and asking what polish and wax is best for your Black Fabia vRS is a bit of a minefield, what are you requirements? Durability? Looks? Value for Money? Quantity? Ease of Application?

Sorry to get a little bogged down and not answer your question directly but like many things some more information is needed before a definitive answer can be given..............

OK then, to make any Wax easier for you to removed just remember the 'less is more' theory and you won't go wrong.

As for good value for money, durable products then you can't go wrong with Collinite 476s or even better value for money would be FK1000p, both provide long periods of durability and are under £20 a tin...........

What do you want the polish to do? Mask Swirls? Remove them? Are you applying by hand or with a DA or Rotary?

I assume you will probably be looking to mask them so something like AG SRP will work or you can look at Poorboys Black Hole, Dodo Juice Lime Prime, etc........
