I'm a fan of the Chemical Guys products, I've used Citrus Wash'n'Gloss for the last 18 months or so and it's a really good shampoo. I'm currently using their Glossworkz shampoo which doesn't produce much in the way of bubbles but boy does it clean well and it's super lubricated.

If you don't want to go for the hassle of ordering over the net and paying postage then I'd go for the Megs Gold Class from Halfrauds, if it's BOGOF then that is a really good deal.

Meguiars NXT Car Shampoo everytime for me

Might want to reserve online as no where by me has either gold class or nxt. If you reserve online and pay they ship it into store for free collection.

just been to halfords n i don't know what to get i want a shampoo polish and a wax

Megs gold class or NXT shampoo, AutoGlym Super Resin Polish, Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection, then a wax on top should you wish.

Yup.

You're going to want to get some microfibre cloths, a drying towel and a couple of foam / microfibre applicators too.

:o ....and a wash mitt

And two buckets :giggle:

and a jet wash.....and a foam lance.....

and a bank loan.....and a bigger shed.....

No votes for Simoniz wash and wax? :giggle:

I dopped my sponge cleaning my car earlier, got most of the grit off, so I guess it's only good for another couple of washes. Will go to Halfords for a new one and check out the Megs at the same time :)

The Simonize hard wax is actually excellent on top of a car washed and then treated with something like SRP.

Sponge............. :o

I bet he finds this is the best shampoo.

Going back to the OP's question. The problem with wash 'n' waxes is you can get wax on windows and windscreens, which cause wipers to streak. You can get the same problem if you use the full wash and wax in an automatic car wash.

No, this is Simoniz Ultimate (forgot that bit first time) Wash and Wax.

5 litres for £3.50 and according to the bottle, good for 300+ washes. Should last me about 100 years

On a serious note. To wash my car I use a hose brush and soap sticks. It's a proper brush though, Hozelock Shampoo Car Wash Brush

Is there anything wrong with this, or should I invest in a wash mitt, two buckets and a good shampoo?

Love the review of that brush on the Halfords website...

"The brush made light work of cleaning my car. I am 77 years of age and usually found this chore hard work"

Quit your trolling Jim. :)

Man, that's a scary product though!!

Oops, I didn't see that review.

I was not intentionally being a troll, as it IS what I use. I was trying to get an honest opinion from someone.

This is what I have been using this afternoon and what I normally use.

P.S. Coffee is optional - It helps to create Elbow Grease, lol! :giggle:

The only other things are a Dyson (DC07) vacuum, AG Interior Shampoo and AG Fast Glass.

Opinions anyone?
