You're supposed to buy a car which you can get insured on... :)

Rob.

Assuming that you are 22 and don't live in a very difficult postcode area, it should be possible to get insured on your own. Have you tried Greenlight and also Chris Knott? Both are listed in our Links section.

Ill have a try now! Sorry need to change that on the profile! I emnat to put down 20 put i put in the wrong date. Im actaully 20 not 22.

The aa tend to give silly quotes rather than just saying no, maybe worth a try. Best to wait until you turn 21 as that's the first major price drop.

20 years old..

Revo'd Fabia vRS

No NCB...

Living "Nr Manchester"

You'll be lucky to get a quote, sadly.

Roll on 21 then. Thanks for the info chaps!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but i don't think there'll be a significant drop even when you're 21, given your demographics. :(

Though, I found the premium didn't significantly drop at 21, only the excess. 25 seems to be where the first significant drop is.

Rob.

Have you thought about a Smart :D

Group 2 insurance...the premium on mine is less than the excess I have on the Skoda...and that's for an unlimited mileage policy!:D

Exactly why I suggested it.

Had a go in one yesterday too - quite impressed to be honest but it was the tweaked one.

Which tweaked one might that be? :rubchin:

I'm 26, with 5 years' NCD. I thought my premium would drop, but for my Furby vRS with no performance mods, the best quote I could get was

Adrian Flux - say no

Adrian Flux wont insure you?

I got a quote from them with me being 19 for a Fabia vRS, with amd one-click remap, eibach springs and dampers, miltek exhaust and 312mm brakes for

Suprising that you being older with fewer mods got turned down...

One of the large weightings is to on postcode, so this might have a significant bearing rather than age/mods, etc.

That explains it then

The insurer has to have the car registered in his/her name. Something to do with who has financal interest in the car

It's very very hard to prove who is the main driver. You can be a named driver and the main driver with some insurers.

You could always insure your mum's car as yours to make it look a bit more genuine.
