I am looking to get some tyres tomorrow for some VW beetle steel wheels I have bought for my VRS.

They are 16" x 6.5

I beleive they are the same size as the standard spare wheel?

What's the best tyre size to go for?

Yes as above should be same tyres as oe alloys as theyre 16 x 6.5 j also

if you dont like the side wall size you could strech some 195s on there (not recomended though)

but 205-45-16 will do............ hell you could even get the ones off your alloys moved over.

I am now going to contradict myself slightly in that im fitting 195-45-16's to my oe alloys to use as winter wheels, but this is ONLY because ive have a set lying redundant in my garage from my old car! otherwise id be using the 205-45-16's fitted from the factory

Cheers all. Currently running 17" comps so can't swap the tyres over.
