Speakers included in Warranty?

Featured Replies

I was wondering if anyone had come across a problem with one or several of their speakers and whether it would come under warranty or not.

My problem: voice coil has melted on ONE bass speaker (the one in the drivers side door) causing horrible distortion. Basically this is known as a 'blown' speaker, however, speakers shouldn't just die like this especially when I don't play my music loud. As I'm hoping to go into a production job, I need my ears so I don't blast it loud like some daft kids, and I believe if the speakers are the same in both doors then both should have 'blown' by now so it shouldn't be classed as wear and tear. I don't want to fill my car with subs/6x9s and I personally think it sounds good as standard so don't really want to replace anything in my ICE system.

Do you guys think the repair/replace of the speaker would come under warranty?

Worth a try it should be covered, aslong as you have the original headunit fitted

Very much so. I had a tweeter that was distorting at certain frequencies replaced under warranty, no problem at all.

Replaced the old head and just took it in to get them to check it, (2 hours wait for a 5 second job), and then they rang me back 3 days latrer when the part got delivered.
