Greenline II delivery times

Featured Replies

over half of my driving is around town or short journys and I have just ordered a Greenline II, anybody else ordered one?

I have been given an idea of about 14 weeks from order to delivery, is such a long time normal?

My understanding is the car should have been in the UK in July 2010 and no dealer had one to see or test - I drove the 1.2 equivalent as some sort of test.

I've ordered one too, for work. Spec looks good for the price, included cruise control too!

I put a deposit down two weeks ago, the dealer was quoting delivery the middle of September. Which is about 10 weeks.

However, the Yeti was only going to take 10 to 12, and it became 14 to 16...

So time will tell!

Chaps

Ive been quoted 8-10 weeks on my Fabia SE estate. Its due to the VAT free offer being so popular. Apparently!

Grahame.

Ordered an Elegance TSI (85) hatch just over six weeks ago, not due to be built until the end of August (WK34/10). Expect delivery towards the end of September so about 15 weeks.

Regards,

TP

Thanks for the info.

Does seem a long time, looks like another month before I will be given some idea of the delivery date

tbh its kind of ok especialy if its nt too comon a spec or has a few extras, an audi s3 we brought had loads of extras and had to be built from scratch, we were quoted about 3-4 months thankfully it arived just before 3 months

Hi, i ordered one four weeks ago and was told it would be 10 weeks

Should be about 4 months from order to delivery for our 1.2TSI DSG Elegance.

I think I am now becoming a little nervous about when my car will arrive. 10 - 12 weeks was quoted when I ordered the car on 23rd June. But, having read various comments it is beginning to look much later!.

This is a problem for me as my current car is a lease car and is due to go back end of August. I may be able to hang on to it for 1 month but not two!!. My dealer has still to quote a build week. It is making me think should I cancel my order and go for another brand of car

sadly its the same for most new cars my friends sis waited 3 months for her rio, if the dealer quoted 10-12 and your worrying pop in and get them to chase it, i recon itl take no more than 12-14

Tell them if they make you wait longer than agreed, you will pass on the cost of a hire car to them or expect a loaner!

Also, if it comes in september, make sure it gets the newer reg plates!!!

That's good, mine should be about the same time then.

Congratulations, My one was delivered to the dealer Tuesday 28th, I am collecting on Sunday the 3rd of October.

I was waiting till I had the car before posting, I thought the three of us would get the car about the same time.

CT17 no sign of yours, I thought you had a build week of 37?

Just to let you know I had a bit of difficulty getting the car insured, both Aviva (dealers free 7 day insurance) and Hastings Direct had never insured a Greeenline II before had to go to the underwriters.

Rather surprised at insurance problems, had no problem with Skoda 7 day insurance and switching my Directline insurance to the Skoda

I shall be ordering a spare wheel, I am very nervous about getting a puncture or damaged tyre on Cornwalls rural roads. Also Kwik fit tell me that repairing a tyre on which the repair kit has been used is more expensive, as they have to clean the inside of the tyre.

Frustratingly, you cannot officially order a factory fitted spare wheel on the Greenline II. (It would probably add a couple of grams to the CO2). Check if the dealer will supply one for you.

My dealer has ordered a spare for me after having checked that there is a wheel well on the car, the price is £118 .The reason for not supplying a spare wheel, the increased weight will increase the co2 emission, and take the car out of the zero road tax band, must be a very heavy wheel!

I am having a private number plate put on and the car had not been registered by the dealer when I applied for insurance.

One strange thing though was was the car modified, no I say. Then I give them the price including factory options. Oh so the car is modified, no I say they are a factory fitted option the car is as supplied by the dealer, no the car has been modified.

Not sure about the spare, in Six years of having the Citroen I used the spare once due to a puncture.

Itching to pick the car up, get it at 11am Sunday morning, then a run around north Wales and a 75 mile run back home.

I'd say. It would need to increase the CO2 output by about 12%. I think the dealer is making up that answer on the fly.

Based on the weight of the car that must be a rather big wheel at 140(ish)kg. :D

And adding a spare to any other Skoda does not (as far as I know) change the co2 figures on the V5c.

Our Yeti has the optional spare and shows the same co2 output for VED as a standard one without.

I was expecting early October, but was then told November. Think I ordered about a week after you. So maybe mine will just arrive shortly...

Not sure of the actual build week.

The Yeti time went back four weeks, then it turned up two weeks early in August.

With regard to insurance it's going on the company fleet as the rates are so good. They'll probably just list it as a Fabia.

My 2008 Range Rover is 350 a year full comp. :o

I have just done my first 85miles in my new Greenline II and I am happy

Nice to drive, quite a bit firmer than my Berlingo. Open the bonnet and nearly everything says VW Audi VAG.

Drove the car with four people in it two adults and two children the size of teenagers through north Wales, over the vales, around twisty roads and on some dual carriage ways.

It has driven really well, do not know about fuel consumption as the car is too new to really tell, but 85mile and one bar on the fuel gauge. The car is defiantly more economical on fuel than my old Berlingo.

Stop Start, well for me I do not think it will be used a lot. on the journey back the car stopped its self once. For the car to stop a lot of things have to be true, Car has to be warm, battery have enough charge, not on to steep a hill and more. I do not see this technology as an issue and if you want you can turn it off for that journey.

Gear selection prompt works quite well, for my drive I found I used 4th very little going almost straight from 3rd to 5th. At 41 the car says use 5th, the rpm is 1500 ish in 5th gear, even with 4 people in the car you can accelerate.

It is funny how the Fabia seems to be going slower then the Berlingo until I look at the spedo and have to slow down opps.

1. Is it noisy? Quieter than the 1.4PD? Do you think they scrimped on the noise insulation like they did with the Greenline I to save weight?

2. Do you know if its got one or two batteries (i.e. one dedicated for the energy recovery) - if its only got one what type is it (any info printed on the battery)

3. What size/make tyres does it have?
