mjc4x4tdi any sign of your Greenline II?

As for the spare wheel issue and the Greenline II Porker posted the probable reason in another thread.

This article Economy testing is quite interesting in the light of this thread. The second part of it (linked from the bottom of the page of part 1) is also worth a look.P.

Cars are randomly taken off the production line and officially tested for mpg, built into the test is the drag of the car without a spare. If a spare was present at the time of test the car could fail.

that is ridiculous, what about carrying passengers and luggage in the boot, that can add a few grams to the CO2 too.

True, but I think it's based on the EU kerbweight, which only allows for a 75kg driver.

Maybe they should have higher CO2 listed for other situations... like if you are a bit chubby it goes over 100g/km and you have to start paying road tax!

My Greenline II should have been a couple of weeks from 1st December to delivery. Now it's going to be this week (or next) due to transportation delays, snow etc...

At least it'll be a 2011 car. :dull:

yes it does come with a well for the spare wheel,, I bought a spare wheel and tyre kit from my dealer after I ordered the car, they were not allowed to supply the spare wheel with the car.

If it doesn't have a spare, it won't come with a jack or wheelbrace I believe.

One of the magazines moaned about this as it made putting the funny foam in more difficult apparently.

When the dealer submited the new car order to Skoda, Skoda said they won't supply a spare wheel ordered with the car, so the dealer ordered it as a separate item

I never saw the spare wheel kit until I collected the car with the kit in the car, I have a jack, a nut spinner and a pair of plastic gloves, but I do not know whether they came with the car or the spare wheel kit.

Looking at the invoice for the car, it is called Spare wheel Pack and price including VAT(17.5%) was £118.01. The spare wheel is a full size 'Speed limited' Continental tyre on a steel wheel (the car is fitted with Dunlop tyres)

The Greenline II arrives tomorrow...

So that's 6 months and 2 days.

Wow £100 + VAT as a spare part order.

Price for full size spare wheel as factory option is about £38 + VAT I recall when I ordered my car (Elegance not Greenline)

After 28 weeks of waiting, it has finally arrived at the dealers, collect it on saturday morning.

Congratulations hope it's worth the wait. Pictures please when u get a chance.

Hope you both enjoy your new cars and welcome to Greenline II club, let us know what you think of the car.

If you want to add to it I started a living with a Greenline II thread some time ago?

Just picked it up from the dealers and driven 50 miles.

First impressions:

A bit noisy at tickover,

Doesn't seem to use any fuel,

Would really benefit from a leather steering wheel and handbrake lever to make it feel nicer when you are driving it.

It had 3.1 miles on the clock. I've brimmed the tank and will fill it up when nearly empty to see what the mpg is before the engine is run in.

Overall it drives well on the open road for a car that costs around 11-12k with the VAT off.

Hmmm.... skoda accessories list a Fabia leather steering wheel at £117 and a handbrake grip at £38. :)

(plus fitting)
