Greenline II delivery times

Featured Replies

1. Is it noisy? Quieter than the 1.4PD? Do you think they scrimped on the noise insulation like they did with the Greenline I to save weight?

2. Do you know if its got one or two batteries (i.e. one dedicated for the energy recovery) - if its only got one what type is it (any info printed on the battery)

3. What size/make tyres does it have?

Hi

I have one on order, but managed to test drive one on saturday for a couple of hours.

1) Quieter than i was expecting, not a problem.

2) 1, fairly large though.

3) Dunlop sport (surprisingly!) 195/55-15

I'm expecting it to be quite noisy...

Maybe I'll be pleasently surprised then as reviews do tend to mention the engine noise.

As my previous car was a Citroen I cannot say if the car is louder than the 1.4 Fabia, I can say is I think the engine is louder than in the Citroen.

Though I like the sound it's a bit like a V6 throaty, funny in the Citroen I had the radio volume set to 12 and in the Fabia its 8 - the radio suggests the Greenline II is quieter than the Citroen.

As Mjc4x4tdi said the car has one big battery, interestingly the manual states for cars with stop start if jump starting do not use the negative terminal on the battery use the car's earth point

Looking at my tyres they are Dunlop Sport 185 / 60 /15 on standard alloy wheels, mind you it was dark when I checked.

My dealer has ordered a spare for me after having checked that there is a wheel well on the car, the price is £118 .The reason for not supplying a spare wheel, the increased weight will increase the co2 emission, and take the car out of the zero road tax band, must be a very heavy wheel!

Collected car yesterday, have driven 50miles since with 4 15st adults, engine very willing, seems to be happiest between 1500 and 2500 RPM , never driven a diesel before, I need to get use the diesel sound when accelerating uphill. The gear change indicator seems to be in conflict with my driving style, when I change down down for a steep decline the indicator suggests a higher gear. the consumption indicator put my consumption at 49MPG, I'm sure that will improve when I learn how to get the best from a diesel .

I was thrown a bit the first time I tried to start the car, put car in neutral, foot on foot brake turned key - nothing. then I looked at the Multi function display, it just said 'Clutch' so put foot on clutch then car started.

When I collected the car the door open light would not go out, service dept. had a look, disabled boot sensor and ordered a replacement.

Spare wheel is a full size tyre on a steel rim, tyres are Dunlop spare is Continental

All in all very pleased with my replacement for the Volvo 240 I have had for 17 years

So ordered the Car 8th August collected car 7th October.

I got a call from my dealer, Greenline II is going to be another 8 weeks. It's been roughly 8 weeks already. So that's nearly as long as the Yeti took.

Good job I'm not in a rush! :D

Maybe it's because I wanted the four option extras?

Do standard ones (as there are not many options on the GL II) come quicker?

I added electric windows and parking sensor's to my order and it took 10 weeks to be delivered to the dealer.

It appears I might have been lucky with my order. The Greenline II had only just been announced when I placed my order.

I do remember the sales man saying the garage had three on order for stock and would make a change to one to meet my spec.

I wonder if the book MPG and VAT offer has increased sales of the Greenline more than expected?

Update: Just spoke to my dealer...

It's due to be built in three weeks, so will be available for collection mid-December. :o

That'll be about 18 weeks.

Fed up waiting for my greenline 2

Ordered 29th June (week 26)

Still not got a confirmed date build date, but latest is christmas week (week 51).

By the time it gets here it will have taken more than 6 months (told 10 - 12 weeks when ordering).

NOT HAPPY

I dont understand how build times can vary so much, anyone got any ideas?

I ordered about mid July.

Will be interesting it comes when they promised as you ordered before me. 29th June must have been one of the first orders! :o

The build is the third week of November for it, it has the four options you can get. Climate, electric rear windows, curtain bags and park sensors

And it's white.

They must be very popular, or they are not building many a week.

I think I would be ringing Skoda UK and asking why the delay, was the car ordered as said, did the garage wait till July - July's sales orders.

I ordered white with electric windows and rear parking sensors, on 26 July and picked the car up on the third of October.

Dealer did place order on 29th.

Customer services are ringing me weekly to keep me updated, but dont really care, just tell me they are busy and they have no control over the factory. Also told the dont actually know how it works, they dont have any answers to ALL my questions.

Not much use.

over half of my driving is around town or short journys and I have just ordered a Greenline II, anybody else ordered one?

I have been given an idea of about 14 weeks from order to delivery, is such a long time normal?

My understanding is the car should have been in the UK in July 2010 and no dealer had one to see or test - I drove the 1.2 equivalent as some sort of test.

I ordered a Greenline II on the 8th of Aug. and was eventually given a build week of 42 but "should be sooner". I have added climate and elect. rear windows. Colour Satin Gray. It is now week 46 and should be built today or tomorrow according to dealer. Delivery mid Dec. Hoping it is worth the wait !!

Frustratingly, you cannot officially order a factory fitted spare wheel on the Greenline II. (It would probably add a couple of grams to the CO2). Check if the dealer will supply one for you.

Ordered my Greenline II in August and am still waiting for a firm date

  • 2 weeks later...

A week or two until ours arrives now.

Only one problem... it may be surplas to requirements now in the business as it's taken so long to arrive! :o

Anyone looking to beat the queue? :D

Good News it's nearly here, it's been a long time.

Maybe Skoda could buy the car of you and give it to me in replacement for my broken one as a solution to the problem seems to be no where in sight.

Ordered mine Fabia Elegance 105TSI DSG7 2010-09-01 (when the order was registered)

Yesteraday i spoke to my salesman and got the good news that my car probably won`t be produced until week 11 2011. That`s production start 6month after placing the order. :(

Maybe because i`ve checked almost all options and some cappuciono beige metallic colour, but anyway. quite disappointing i must say...

Well, I've put it in the "for sale" section on the off chance...

Finally, after waiting 25 weeks, i have got a confirmed build week, week 51, next week!

I wonder how long delivery will take with christmas & new year breaks.

Mine took two weeks from build to delivery at the dealers so I'd guess second week of Jan for delivery.

that is ridiculous, what about carrying passengers and luggage in the boot, that can add a few grams to the CO2 too.

Got a call from dealer yesterday, its built !!!
