I have ordered a 1.6 TDi Fabia, I have checked the oil it uses, it is VW 507 spec. The oil above does comply to that spec so that is what to use.

My Passat 2.0TDI cannot go between services without a litre of oil, Castrol Edge is £15.99 a litre, Mobil is £16.99. I'll be buying a few a few of these

Mobil #1 "esp" 5W-30 long life oil is suitable for petrol & diesel VW engines ( specs 504 & 507 respectfully) This is the highest oil spec specified by VW . ASDA sell it at £32 for 5 liters or about £8 per liter.

Yes, as it's VW 507.00 it is suitable,

I thought ASDA's price was good, but this works out at just £21.25 for 5 litres!!

Wonder why it's this price though - stock mis-price? Old stock?

Do check if anyone finds any at this price - modern oil tends to have a 'use by' date on the neck of the bottle. Worth seeing when that is - usually the proper stuff gives you 2+ years.

I got 2 lirtes earlier at Tesco's petrol station in Ingleby Barwick earlier and they had another 10 ish on shelf, i wasn't sure if it was the right stuff for my car otherwise i would have had them all...

Just been back to Ingleby Barwick this morning and got the last one on the shelf so defo still at that price or at least in some garages...

Ipswich Copdock tesco filling station was selling it but had sold out. Stowmarket did have some, no idea if they still have though.

This the 2nd time Tesco has got the oil pricing wrong but each time I,ve been too slow to get the bargains ! I,m surprised when a lot of guys keep going in and clear the shelves they don't check the price.
