Strange one

Featured Replies

Fitted my new mats today and noticed a leak coming from the clutch pedal box, it felt oily so don't think its water. Any ideas? Are there some seals on the clutch assembly and its leaking fluid from there?

Answers on a postcard.

clutch master cylinder leaking i would say.

On the end of the clutch pedal.

Will probably just be a rubber seal and if you go to skoda they will no doubt do a seal kit to fix the problem, shouldnt be too much and cheaper than buying a complete cylinder....if thats the problem of course!

not sure if there is a seal kit, we always fit a new cylinder as they are plastic and easily broken, its not a 5 min job and it helps if you have small hands with long fingers to get the pressure pipe off and on.

i always take the clutch pedal completly off to fit them

I've dried the area and will keep an eye on it. I wouldn't fix it myself, the car is going to UNIT 18 for some work so I'll get them to do it
