Has anyone noticed that the price of Diesel has creped up to 5p more than unleaded? - I always has been 2p more around here, but recent price drops have been greater on petrol - why as it is still much cheaper than petrol on the continent - looks like were being ****ed again in the UK.

I've noticed unleaded drop by about 5p, and diesel staying the same! :grumpy: :rant:

Diesel round here has finally dropped from 85.9p to 83.9p a litre. Think unleaded is currently 81.9p.......

DIesel has been 83.9 here for aaaages! :( And in the space of 7 or 10 days unleaded has fallen by 5p... Why did the supermarket price battle only affect unleaded!!!? :confused:

The reasons that Diesel is cheaper than petrol in the continent is that it isn't taxed as heavily in the continent. The Netherlands has similar petrol prices to us (with a couple of pence per litre but Diesel is 20p a litre cheaper. However I have heard this is made up in other ways!

I've seen it as muchs as 10p more than petrol! it's abit of a joke but nevermind, we as a national will carry on paying it and just moan in slience!

Yes but it is only the supermarkets that have dropped the price of unleaded (and Esso where they are closed to a supermarket), my local station (BP) has just put its price up to 87.9p per litre of unleaded, a cool 9p more than my local Tesco.

UL down near home is now 78.9P a litre, whilst diesel is still 84.9P.

I think the reason is, that supermarkets decided to start a pricewar and he local filling stations are having to match their prices.

I wish some one would tell my local BP station that they are meant to match the local super market!
