Hello all,

I have a Octavia FL on a 09 plate and I have enabled "rain closing" within the 09 central electrics controller and they still dont close when it rains?

The rain sense wipers work fine and the auto close of windows from remote work but I cant get this one to play ball.

Is there another setting I need to change?

How did you "test" the rain closing? Mind posting a scan from the vehicle in question?

Most people simply do not test this correctly and then bitch it doesn't work while everything is actually fine.

Hopefully I'm not classed as "Bitching".

I have been testing wiith a Spray container that I normally have my upholstery cleaner in (only got water in for this though)

What I might be getting wrong is how this works, I was under the impression that if the car was locked up with the windows open upon it raining the windows would close.

But does it only work if you have ignition on (so you'd be driving) and if it rains the windows would close?

If required I can get a scan of the car later this evening.

How much time did you leave between locking up and testing? Make sure there is actually 5-10 minute window in between.

I shall give that a try!

Tried as you suggested and still no joy.

All the required boxes are ticked on the 09 central electrics controller.

The only box I dont unserstand is the permanet or recurring option for rain closing?

Sadly you haven't posted a full scan yet, so even though I'd like to help - I've got no chance to look at some actual data.

Ok no problems I shall get one over weekend if it should stop raining.

Now just so Im sure the full scan is the one where VCDS goes through all the controllers looking for errors? I am still new to all this.

I think that "auto close" window works only if you have sunroof.

Unless I missed sth. it should work just fine, which leaves the question why it doesn't. The existence of a sunroof has nothing to do with the rain closing or any type of remote controlled closing.

I can't figure it out!

Shall do some more testing when it's not raining! Ironic I know but aint letting interior get wet!

Do you have Multi-function display? If so, I've read a few posts about enabling it there after the coding.

Not got the Maxidot but should work with the coding i've got.

Done the coding within the 09 Central Electrics and the wiper sub controller still no joy!

I have that one linked from the MK6 tweak thread in my signature. The RLS coding looks fine IMO, but at this point experimenting with it can't hurt.

Yes it's me with the Xenon issue as well!!

I've already unticked bit4 so the windows continue to work after ignition is off as I use the car for work I am sometimes sat in car waiting for people!!
