Wheel question

Featured Replies

The wheels from the new mini are 4x100. Would they go onto a felicia ok?

I need some new tyres, and have stumbled across a set close to me with good tyres.

What do we think?!

What offset are they? There may be a number such as ET36 on them. THat's important. The centre spigot diameter is important too - can't remember what it is on the Felicia. Oh, and the profile of the studs as well, the wheels need to match the bolts you use for them to be attached securely.

The nut/bolt profile isn't even the end of it; you also need the correct length of bolt thread or nut thickness.

The Felicia uses a 4x100 wheel with an ET of 35-38 on 14 or 15 inch rims. Bolts should be M12 x 1.5mm thread pitch....spigot diameter is 57.1mm, same as 4 stud VW and Seat wheels...dont even think about using the standard steel wheel bolts with alloys, they're too short and incorrectly tapered for most alloys.

The BMW Mini has a 60.1 centre bore, and will physically fit on the hub...BUT

Most aftermarket (non standard/shop bought) brands come with plastic spigot rings to reduce the oversized centre bore of the wheel to the required size, and should be available from the wheel manufacturer if required, for a few quid each. Failure to fit these will mean the wheels will always feel out of balance and can (scaremongering maybe, but it happens) lead to the wheel working the bolts loose til one snaps....

Hope thats some help!

hi mate i got some 16 inch for mine with not that much mither , the mini wheels i used where of a 2002 car with a center bore of 57 mine is a 57.1 just had to file the center of the wheel 1 mm bigger , pretty easy with a flap wheel and drill , spacers wise first i went for option A, universal 25 mm with 50mm tappered bolts , some say you can , some say you cant, this way is making the wheel bolt centricle , im not getting in to this if its right or wrong thing and you shouldn't do it beacuse the forces blah blah blah ...... the other options are hubcentric spacers lets call them B and C. B is a spacer with the hub and you use longer bolt to go straight through them in to your car hub , C are spacers with the hub that bolt on to your car hubs and your new mini wheels with the new tapper bolt in to them . you cant use your own standered wheel bolts they are radius bolts ..

you can get all the things you need from most wheel shops , but i dont think you'll get much change from £200 nicker..... it took me around 2 weeks to get all the things i needed from the magical market place they call ebay ! probable £20 pound a corner for everthing . just keep looking and dont let the bargains pass you by ...

its only sitting up this high beacuse its jacked up !! although looking at it up might be the new down !! he he ...

in the end i used FK hubcentricle wheel spacers 4x 100.57.1 / 15mm product Code FK009 15BZ.

Ok - may still go down the mini wheel route... But,

What sort of tyre width could work. My Fun is lowered, and currently runs 195s.

Would 205s work on a 16" with an offset of 35?

Cheers again!

Alex.
