Harly Wax! It's awesome!

Featured Replies

Recently purchased a 14oz tin of HARLY WAX and it's by far the best i've ever used. I have a red fabia vrs 04 and needed a little help to get it's shine back!

I've read countless times that Carnuba is the one, so i bought a tin of harly wax which contains yellow Carnuba for just 18.00 quid free delivery courtesy of Johnny Woods (the importer of harly wax-from America), from Ebay!!

I've waxed it 3 times now and the red has got a deep deep shine to it, also hiding swirl marks from washes.

TRY IT!! YOU WON'T USE ANOTHER WAX AGAIN!! B)

IIRC it is re-branded P21-S, which was one of the first hard waxes I used when getting into detailing, and I loved it.

Ah right, thanks for that - always did think they were quite similar products!

I have been using Harly wax on my black car with 2 and a 1/2 years now and swear by it.

Lovely results and lovely to use.

Also got it from Johnny Woods emoticon-0148-yes.gif

If it's rebranded P21-S does that mean while it's nice to use and looks good it also lasts about 5 minutes?

I get months out of mine and it still beads everytime it rains.

Thats why I dont really use it now too, but the initial impact of it is very good, and if you are committed to applying a coat a month or so then its an Ideal wax.

I used to be happy doing the car every 3 months with wax, but these days it's more a good few coats every 3-6 months, so I think the 476s will be staying :)

You don't work for them by any chance? :giggle:

I've yet to try Harly (I'm sure it won't be long though, I have a bit of a wax habit!) but by all accounts it's nice to use and looks spot-on, although I've heard mixed reports on durability. There's so many variables when it comes to that though.

Have a tub of Harley Wax and P21S not doing a lot on the shelf in the garage, think I may need to have a clearout on DW.............hmmmmmm...................

Don't forget the good people on here Baker; don't forget your roots ;)

As an overall wax product, I think it would take something special to move me from 476S. A friend of mine has also got really good durability out of 915 as well, which is supposedly not as durable.

I also have Victoria Concourse and Blackfire Midnight Sun in the wax cabinet :D

No, don't work for them. But I'm bit of a wax freak - I've tryed loads of liquid waxes (meguires, turtle wax platinum etc) but nothing compares to this.

Only 18.00 quid for 14oz tin!! It will last you ages too!! Bargain. (don't work for them honest!)

Yeah I know what your saying mate, I think that 'sales' would move quicker on DW but I will have a potential clear out this weekend.........

Normally i would strip the car of all wax with a few good washes of APC and fairy liquid mix.

A rub of clay if needed.

A coat of Autoglym

And no more than 3 or 4 coats of Harly over the next week or so,

That keeps me going for months.

Still beading after 4 months.

I've got some FK1000P as mentioned in my other thread Steve - feel free to pop up and give it a try sometime. There's more than enough to share!

Only kidding

I started out with liquid waxes, mainly from the Meguiar's range, but lately I've much preferred using paste waxes. In my mind at least, they seem to be much more economical to use, and durability seems better (maybe not in the case of liquid sealants like Zaino Z2, but compared to other liquid waxes). They feel more 'special' to use as well, as if there might be more skill required :D

Ohhh, I love it when water just sits on the body work like that!! Makes the car look really protected. You can't beat a black car for waxing!!

Fair play, it looks like glass!!

3 or 4 coats over a week you say!! I'm gonna try that after it's had a serious debuging wash!

Thanks

Yea, your right! The only skill I find you need is to let it haze at the right time. If you don't let it haze properly (wipe off to soon) it won't shine as much. But if you leave it on to long, it's hard work to wipe off!

Timing = Perfection.

Yeah.

They say anything more than 4 coats is just a waste of effort.

When I said Autoglym I forgot to say it was SRP.

If I feel the need I would give it a quick run of Megauirs Qiuck Detailer to top it up in between waxes.

Just one more pic of a bit of beading for you. emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

I've got that (Meguiars Quik Detailer), but haven't used it yet. I'll try it now though!! Thanks for the pics, makes me more determined to get my car more shiny!! Thanks B)

18 quid is a bit steep for a first time user, can you get any tester / sample or smaller tins from anywhere before committing.. SWMBO will kill me as I said she couldn't have that bracelet in a sale for £15..

Click on Baker21's link above.

He has an 80% full tin of it for £10

You cant go wrong at that.

I got over 2 years out of my last tin emoticon-0148-yes.gif
