Help - removing dash cluster

Featured Replies

I'm about to attempt to remove the dash cluster (immobiliser problem so needs to be sent off to fix for £129 + VAT as opposed to the dealers quote of £500).

Anything I should watch out for?

I've been told its quite straight forward but as I have limited technical skills it may not be that easy.

Cheers

Jon

Sorry - should have mentioned - Fabia 1 (2001) 1.4

Put the steering wheel on maximum reach and lowest rake position. Remove trim between steering wheel and instrument cluster (just pulls off). Undo two screws, pull instrument cluster forward and disconnect plug. Disconnect battery first.

Excellent - thanks.

The plugs have a U shaped lever, you release it and move the lever over and the plug should rise and release.

Whatever you do, don't drop the screws as they go right into the bowels of the dash and you'll never see them again (I have the ones from Lummox's old car in mine as proof!)
