Bloody HELL...Skoda to Build RALLY FURBY!

Featured Replies

Autocar, page 17

Seems Skoda might/will be building a new Version of Furby. Clock this, a "Rally" model with Wings and body work from the WRC! Also a 197 BHP motor!............Now that sounds like the Golf GTI, thus 6 speed DSG as well?

Monster Brakes, Recaro seats?..............Good price :))

Here's hoping!

Cheers

Mike

Nuts just spent all my money on a vRS :(

Tell us more... Or is it just a short news article?

To quote Autocar...

Skoda plans rally-spec Fabia special edition

"Skoda is planning a small run of World Championship edition Fabias with the awesome styling of its WRC car. Skoda chairman Detlef Wittig recently said the company is keen to make the most of its rally championship participation in 2005 by bringing "WRC features to our production models". This could include a 197bhp turbo petrol engine and rally car's huge rear wing and flared arches".

Have a look at this thread:

:D

diesel power needed LOL

I guess the power output suggests they are going to have the 2.0 FSI Turbo engine from the new Golf GTI in it. That will be like a rocket!

Why did they have to do this only months after I've had mine

If it's true, I'd strongly considering chopping the Octy for one... with 200 horses on tap it should go pretty well... So long as it has all the toys i'm used to now. And provided they change the impractically white seats for something dark, and in leather.

And I never thought I'd hear myself say that.

I wouldn't have one.

They should stick with the 130 bhp 1.9 vrs as top of the fabia range. They have found perfect pitch for this sexy car .Let them concentrate on the new octavia vrs to blow the golf gti(and everything else) out of the water.Don't ruin a good thing

It would probably be a limited production run... like the Octy WRC (100) in which case its not going to dent the vRS sales... :D

I wouldn't have one.

either would I, I need a diesel with the milage I do, if I wanted a petrol vrs they I would have bought the octi. :D

though if it was 4wd and 300+bhp then I might be tempted ;)

Maybe itll have the PD160 motor from the ibiza cupra in it :)

Jesus new it was a limited production run but never knew it was that limited, no wonder ive never seen one in the flesh

There's only something like 25-30 in the UK out of 38 RHD models though...

They'd have made more, but could only find 100 people in the world who'd pay 20K for a Skoda :D

lol

Just read the small article.Neo VR sounds spot on given the "small run" quote.About 100 or the like.Agree don't think it will affect vrs sales. In fact I think it could be a very good advert for skoda and fabia vrs(not that they need it!!).If I remember the limited edition Octavia WRC was in full racing livery.Probably look a bit bright on the my driveway however stunning the rally car is

This sounds the most realistic with 17's and AP Racing calipers on 312mm discs. In which case I may like the idea. If its like the widebody one then no thanks.

23 was the magic number of WRC octies that made it I think... We have about 5 on here IIRC

anyone got pics of the limited ed. octavia? When did they come out and how much were they compared to the RS?

One parked not 20 yards from where i live. my neighbour has one the lucky git! But he still admires my furby vRS when he goes past, he has told me he was annoyed that the paintwork was "rally". I said "well did you not see it before you bought it you stupid *****!"

Interesting stickers on the lights! :D

Sounds sweet! I'd definately consider chopping the Octy in for something like that - probably second hand though. Don't fancy the likely 16-18K pricetag...

Hmm rally Furby like the sound of that :D
