Had my car a couple of weeks (build week 26) and it came with Continental's on it. Not sure of the type and cant check at the moment (biked to work today.....) I think they are sport contact 2 but will check when I get home later.

had mine since feb - came with contisport contact2's.

Seems to be random, folks before and after me were getting Conti's, i got Dunlops.

Although so far they've not been anywhere near as bad as folks were suggesting. Wet grip leaves a little to be desired for a high performance car, but they've been faultless grip wise for normal driving in the wet.

Dry performance isn't blistering, they'res no danger you'd step out after an enthusiastic drive and say "OMG! Those tyres are phenomenal!" but equally you're unlikely to think they're the worst tyres either.

I think tyres are determined by the discounts Skoda can get from the Manufactures

I collected my car in January with the Dunlops on and thought that they were absolutely shocking. however, as the weather improved I decided they weren't too bad, although the wear rate was sillly... I can't remember the last time I wore through a set of front tyres in less than 9000 miles

I was used to Michelins (used them for years) and the performance differential between winter and summer was huge on the Dunlops, much worse than the Michelins. In my opinion the Dunlop was definitely a tyre that needs changing for the winter...

On my old 06 MK2 VRS I had Dunlop’s and after about 13,000 they all started splitting around the circumference of the tire in two places in the inner tread. Had them all changed and got 3/4 of the price of the replacements refunded on the backs and 1/2 on the fronts after Dunlop investigated.

It'll definitely be worse in the diesel. I feel the petrol vrs has too much torque for these tyres to drive too hard, and the diesel puts down a lot more torque.

It's looking about the same for me, i'm at 4.5k just now (rotated at 2.5k), looking like 9k-10k's probably the change time for them.

... Michelins ...

You can't beat them, mine will be wearing PS3s soon enough.

Sounds like I should be hoping for the Continentals then!

mine came with Conti 2's, I have done nearly 10,000 miles and there is still a few mil's to go before the indicators. Both front and back seem to have even wear, if only a fraction more on inner part of the tyres.

The sport maxx that came with ours are in one word - shocking. Drivewise they are ok but there is no other word for the wear rate. About 2.5mm left on fronts after 10k. Having them rotated this weekend. Once they have gone it will be either Conti or Michelin. Have had Michelin before and they last well. More expensive but its false economy to put on cheaper gear. I have heard Contis are good but a bit noisy on the VRS. How is the wear rate on these? Anyone had any experience of them?

I've had Contis on the front of my current Volvo since March and subjectively I'd say they are wearing better than the Pirelli P7s they replaced with but possibly a tiny bit less grip.

Anyone want to share what brand of tyres their new Octavia VResses have come with in the last couple of weeks?

I've had Conti SC2's and Falken FK452's and both are good, but the Falkens get a really good write up on the vRS.

One thing I am looking at as I come up to replace the last Conti's 30k Miles, is the rim protection.

The Contis 'bulge' a lot more than the Falkens, leaving more buffer if you brush the kerb when parallel parking.

Any comments on the 'bulge' on what others have fitted?

Thanks everyone

Picked mine up a month ago and she had Conti's on.

They're ok, if a bit noisy, but can't wait to change them to a decent set to be honest..........

mine is a feb 10 car and came with dunlops. Only done 6000 miles though and i dont see much tread left on the fronts!

had mine since feb - came with contisport contact2's.

+1. From what I've read on here, I was relieved when it came on Contis rather than Dunlops!
