Used Skoda Prices

Featured Replies

I bought my pre-facelift black 2008 (08) 2.0 TDi 140bhp PD Octavia Scout in August last year from a Skoda dealer with 8,500 miles for £14,250.

I'd shopped around for a few weeks before and found several similar cars at similar prices, however Rainworth had one for £500 less than the next cheapest dealer with the xenons as a bonus.

I love the car, as does the wife, so much so she's nicked it!

Just out of curiosity I started looking to see how much they were as I'd considor buying another for me since I'm now stuck in her old bog standard 1999 (V) Peugeot 306 LD!

Based on what I paid for mine 12 months ago I reckoned I could get a slightly older and/or higher mileage one for a good chunk less than what I'd paid for mine.

I was wrong, very wrong! When I finally found one for around the £14K I paid for mine it was a factory standard 2007 (57) and had 20,000 miles on it.

My car has 15,000 miles on it now and is younger than most of the others I've seen for the same price or more than I paid for mine last year. How has the value of my car increased? Confused!

Looks like I'm stuck in the 90bhp Peugeot :'(

I'm in a similar boat with my vRS. I will admit that I got a cheap car when I purchased it, but it has hardly dropped in value at all. I paid £8995 for a 22month old 2007(07) Octavia vRS petrol estate with 22K Miles, parking sensors and sunroof back in March 2009. I have since put another 28K on the clock and after looking around I see I could probably get a similar amount for it now - seems crazy as hell!! I've been looking at the prices of new ones on carquake and keep thinking that it could be a similar situation. Cars cars cars..............
