Just ordered my Furby vRS

Featured Replies

I sold my Subaru Impreza this morning so immediately headed into my local Skoda dealership. Test drove a Fabia vRS first, and also as an outsider a new (old shape) Octavia with PD130 engine which they had there.

There was a black magic Furby vRS with ESP available in stock, and also a silver Furby vRS without ESP available in stock. Tough choice but I opted for the silver one without any options. I think i prefer silver to black, ESP would have been nice but i'm not sure whether i really 'need' it.

So my silver one should be ready by 10th Jan.

Roll on cheap/fun motoring again. :)

Congrats Iwan.

Look forward to seeing your impressions once you've got the car!

congratulations mate! you should have plenty of fun with your new cars

Good choice, I sold my Subara due to high service bills and running costs. I have never look back since getting a black Furby vRs

Aaaargh, urge to change my order to the black one with ESP is rising! :)

No stick with silver. Black is just a nightmare (although black is the better looking colour ;) )

Nice choice mate, although both colours have their pros and cons, I personally have a silver one and it is a nightmare to keep clean!!!!!! just look at my pictures in the gallery.

Just changed the order to black magic instead of silver. I know it'll take a lot more cleaning than a silver one would to keep it looking nice, but black looks great polished up. :)

I was going to say good choice mate go for silver!!! Cos i got a stock silver Vrs on jan the 10th 2004.

And it would be cool if someone get one exactly the same on 2005. Or am i being a bit sad lol?

Black looks sooper pimp when clean

Good move Iwan :D You went for it  You won't be disappointed (even tho my scoob was a sport not turbo the Fab has plenty of oomph!)

Just handle those twisties a little differently to start with to get the feel for it :P

I'm really impressed with my Vrs especially now that it's been driven in :D

I opted out of the ESP ;)

Hi MissyC, spookily i spotted one of your posts on Scoobynet this morning and recognised you were on here too. :)

You've got a Fabia vRS too then? I was very impressed when i test drove one, obviously nowhere near the power/handling of my P1 but great fun even so, and very economical. I'd really gone off scoobs (having had 2), they're great cars but attract the wrong sort of attention like a magnet (plod and chavs). I also got fed up having a nice car which i was scared to leave parked anywhere, and the depreciation and servicing costs are crippling. It's going to be nice having something fairly anonymous that 99% of people will walk past without batting an eyelid, but still has performance, economy, style and great build quality.

I hope i'm going to be happy with the Fabia, can't wait for it to arrive now! :D

Don't kid yourself, mate. We've got both, and unfortunately the wife's vRS seems to attract quite a bit of chav attention - not as much as the scoob though ;)

Doh, oh well at least it'll be an improvement on my old P1 chav magnet. :)

Just ordered some uprated bulbs for when the Fabia arrives, oh, and it's going to be silver again instead of black - apparently someone else swiped the last available black one.

Doh, oh well at least it'll be an improvement on my old P1 chav magnet. :)

If you want to make the vRS stand out a little bit less, debadging is very easy to do :D

Ive got my mums 1.4mpi badge if you want, should stop the attention :D

Also appologies as its probably people like me who cause the attention as when a Fiesta/Saxo pulls up next to me with 5k spent on huge exhaust and various other body parts, I just cant resist looking at the person laughing and then beating them :)

Yep, and I really like the look of the debadged **** on the Furby. Definitely works too, I seem to get more surprised looks now rather than people driving up your **** always looking for a race! ;)

Looks like silver is the colour of the day, just ordered mine today with cruise, black is so difficult to keep clean. Did you take gap ins. I can't decide?

Did you take gap ins. I can't decide?

Um, no. What's that then?

I don't usually go for any of the dealership add-ons...

Good choice and I have noticed lately alot of people that have had hatch hatches and sport cars UPGRADING to the Fabia vRS. I went for black, bloody hard to keep clean but looks the nuts when it is clean. My second choice was yellow then silver then red. highly tunable engine for very little money and the PD lump can catch alot of people in hot hatches etc off guard very easily.

Ah ok, cheers for the explanation. No i didn't go for that, it hasn't been offered so far but maybe they'll mention it when i pay for the car and do the paperwork.

Incidentally, i had a call from the dealer yesterday. My vRS should be arriving with them today (or monday latest), then it just has to be PDI'd and i can collect it.

I can't wait! :huep:

AARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH............ALL blinkin' colours are hard to keep clean.....dirt is dirt and whilst certain colours show it more all cars attract the same amount of dirt anyway. If you like black, get black, if you like red or silver then get red or silver......i was reluctant to get black as i'd never had one before and keep listening to the "ooooohhhh dont get black" brigade, BUT hey it aint that bad. I clean it as much as my previous red car AND it looks soooooooooo nice afterwards.

People said to me silver doesnt look too bad when dirty, and black is terrible. I have a silver Furby and my mate has a black Beeza, and quite frankly, I dont think the silver looks particularly much better than black when dirty. I think its all a load of ****** TBH. In fact in some ways, I wish I'd got black - harder for a policeman with a "safety laser" to lock on to it ;)
