Front bumper underside trims needed.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Anyone breaking a MK 1 octy or recently changed a front bumper and trims.

Iv just had an argument with a lowerable bollard (didnt lower enough to reverse back over it  ) and caught the underside of my front bumper on it. All damage is superficial luckily and all the bits and peices secured fine with a bit of black duct tape.

However I am after a bit more of a permanent fix.

The bits I am after are the little black underside trims either side that connect to the bumper and wheel arch. I think they only cover a gap rather than anything too structural.

If anyone has any of these bits and bobs lying around I will happily take them off your hands for payment of course, or if anyone knows where I can get them from cheap (not breakers yards as there are none nearby) any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hoping expentantly,

Johnno

I will be shortly changing my underside bits (two outside plus centre) to VRs ones, so as it happens will have some going spare!

You have a PM......

cheers,

Martin

i dont run these on my car,not sure its a requirement, maybe just keeps things a bit cleaner.

ok, bit of confusion here. These are the parts I was referring to:-

[Bumper bits

(why can't I get the image to appear in the post?)

which are not the bits that Johnno needs.

Hence I still have these available! emoticon-0105-wink.gif

i think under bits mean the two plastic crap guards under the two corners of the front bumper, personally i dont think they are needed but i cant see why an mot man would want them

I think boomsly has hit the nail on the head there. They are the bits I need I think.

If they are literally crap guards I'll take the broken ones off. Just wanted to keep it all tidy thats all.

So if anyone has any of these I'll still want them

the only reason i would keep the one under the intercooler is to try and keep mud out of the fins, but not much would get up there i think, take them off and just keep checking how dirty it is/isnt just to be sure

You can buy the engine splash guards new, for about £25 each for the side ones.

I replaced one of mine last year when it got smashed by a snow bank! The drivers side one does a good job of protecting the aux. drive belt from crapola, and the passenger side one protects the gearbox from equal amounts of cruddage. The centre one just ties all three together, to make them a fairly solid threesome. I think you'll struggle to find one second hand, as they get mashed so easily. You see them hanging down on most cars of this platform.

main thing am concerned about is fitting the aux belt,

now its fine but i may get some for the winter.
