I used to have a mk1 vrs, but decided to go for a change. I'm now looking at buying a 1.4 TDI, but are there any known faults with these cars? I'm after something uber reliable.

I've had mine for two years now...Fabia 1.4TDI PD 80bhp estate. Bought new. No problems other than a lower front 'A' pillar seal that went AWOL. Skoda had a batch that did that but it was replaced and no worries since. It's just a cosmetic thing anyway. Car and engine is ultra reliable and bomb proof. Engine is a lot of fun and very pokey. You will think you are driving the 1.9TDI under most circumstances. Buy with confidence.
