Lower arm bushings worn

Featured Replies

Evening,

Lot of threads on this, but nothing on price.

I know that bushings are a common fault on Fabia vRS. Had mine in for 40k service today and asked them to check them (as been knocking). They quoted me £183 to replace O/S/F and N/S/F. This sounds hellishly expensive to me.

Anyone had this done recently. I don't have proper gear to do it meself, so would prefer someone to do it for me. Any idea what is a fair price?

Thanks for any advice

That's a typical dealer price. Takes just over an hour per side.

I'm sure I paid around that figure on the old car - can't tell now since I handed over all the old receipts when I traded the car in.

Depends on if they are fitting bushes or replacing the whole console (thinking the first one) but either way better off fitting Cupra bushes.

However worth noting the original bushes have now been superceeded to the MK2 Octavia bushes.

Managed to get it booked in for O/S/R and N/S/R bushing replacement at just over £120. So, 60 quid cheaper than main dealer.

Parts come in at 17 quid plus vat I believe and if its a 2 hour job, sounds fair.

Thanks to all for heads up

I paid about 180 at the dealer. Pricey :( But unfortunately normal. Obviously a lot cheaper elsewhere, 120 sounds good to me.

yh sunds about rite but am guna do mine myself as the bushes cost me £20.18 for the 2 lol got the tools so a job for the weekend fiddle at work

I'm getting my lower arms and bushes done for about £70/£80, but I'm having the brakes done too, so some of the labour is slightly cheaper as it's all being done at the same time.

Also, you should have your tracking/alignment checked after having the arms/bushes fitted.

Any idea what the part numbers are for the Seat Cupra bushes as my Fabia VRS, "suprisingly", requires the bushes changing...

Do you know anywhere that does them for a decent price? Just need the parts...

Cheers

Put < cupra bushes part no > into the search box - for part no and prices...
