If it's the later then I'm afraid I've killed another steering rack .

But it don't look like water (rusty or otherwise) to me!

Wonder if water has got into your rack??

Looks like it could be rusty water that's been held in there by the boot. I guess the easy way to check would be to monitor the PS fluid level, making sure you always check it when the car is at the same temperature.

Either that or you're actually a caveman behind the wheel!!

hope it's not the rack... I'm just about to wrap mine up and send it to Billy, you two might have to have a rack fitting session!

lol yea, er but that doesnt sound good Dave, surely if its water it will dry? and PS fluid wont?

does look like water but were from? nothing welse in there looks rusty.

Just bouncing this back up

Finally checked the level on the PAS fluid looks fine, probably a bit of due the fact the that the boot is cable tied on.

A jubbile clip is needed lol
