Mk1 Octy 4 x 4 Turbo - anyone know the history of this car?

Featured Replies

Hi

Does anyone know the history of a silver Mk 1 4x4 Turbo Elegance. Given it's spec and the Briskoda discounted Awesome GTi receipts, I guess someone on here knows a bit more about it. It looks almost completely std apart from the Milotec grill.

The spec sheet reads like Robocop's shopping list. ie Forge FMC, Coilovers , Stage 2 remap, Full Blue Flame exhaust, Haldex ECU , Neuspeed this that and the other...

I got bored with my sensible car after selling my Octi MK2 VRS.

Cheers

Sort of!

PM me if you want to know more.

Is this StuartJ's old car??

lol robocop had a turbo B)

The guy who owned it spent alot of money on it

It was a great car , the gearbox`s are a bit poo on those

But he spent a fortune

I will admit , that the 4X4 has the 150BHP engine in to start with , so if they come up with the S3 rubbish , it is that , rubbish

Lovely guy who had it too , went on to an Audi , I dont mind helping it it will help

But to be fair , I dont think he had any reason to sell , bad that is ;)

Just an EX wife IIRC

Hi

Thanks for all the replies - Sarah - do you work for Awesome by any chance?

Saw the dyno for 238bhp which is what I kinda expected as no turbo swap. Im happy with that. It's appeal for me is that it looks almost standard.

Most work was done in 2008 , don't have the paperwork yet, pick it up this weekend. :)

Not Stuart's old one then as that had gone down the IHI turbo path and was running 300+ bhp.

No I really have no idea TBH but given the £12k plus bills that this things got it seems Awesome was it's second home, so no reason to doubt it makes about that

No , the last I knew it still had the KO3 turbo on , as APR do not do a map for that

But the 150BHP will map the same as the 180

Stage 2 , yes it may have...but I can remember , sorry

Sarah

your saying the k03 maps the same as the k03s right????

as i think that might not be true :o

p.s whats the mileage and what did you pay???

Edited by westallc

if it was a 4x4, later ones had a ko3s fitted

Edited by sweedish

so its got a k03s then ??? as a k03 will only push 200 to 210 absolute max

thus it must have the k03s

p.s sarah a k03 and a k03s cannot be mapped the same ;) :p

turbo war......engage B)

what year did they change the 4x4 150's to k03s???

so not the same mapping as it says they have 2 different turbos with 2 different capability's is what that says yes???

i am now very confused lol

does it or doesnt it have a k03s lol someone must know as im stumped as i thouhgt all the 150's had the k03

what year did they change the 4x4 150's to k03s???

As far as I know , they didn`t

There are loads of tuning companies say the 150 drive by wire maps the same as the 180 drive by wire

2 companies i worked for say so , so dont shoot just me

Why not try it yourself

sarah

im not shooting you sarah im not that brave

p.s it even says on awesomes page that they cant get the same out put so mapping cant be the same lol

depends how you think about it, not all petrol 4x4s had the ko3, though they did all have 150bhp. they changed the turbo at some point in the range i think around 2001, although it maybe that the 4x4 came out then and they all had ko3s turbos fitted (cant quite remember)

whatever happens, i have owned a modfied 4x4 that was mapped and ran not far off my vrs, and my friend another member has a 4x4 that pulls like a train and def puts out more than 200, def has a ko3s too, thats been misplaced for a gt2860rs..sweet B)

cool so im thinking it must have a ko3s as standard prob 2001 - on makes sense then it would map excatly the same

not the same as mapping a k03 150 to the same level as a k03s 150

we all singing from the same hym sheet ;)

im not shooting you sarah im not that brave

Yes , I have been told , the 150 DBW is all but the same as the 180 DBW , I have always had my doubts going back to the other tuning compat I worked at , that was a Revo dealer , then Custom Code

But hey........

But that car has the stage 2 , and then was PX`d by a company that wanted to boast a bit OTT on the mods , and did advertise it somewhere as having the same engine as an S3 :giggle: so that would mean a KO4

So you are well out of date there , as well as me ;)

Brave , you ask my Mark , even he is not THAT brave LOL

I have a glass of wine in my hand , even Arnie himself would not be THAT brave

Sarah :D
