Panasonic DMR-EX99VEBK 250GB HDD DVD/VHS Recorder with Freeview+

Featured Replies

Looking at an all purpose DVD/VCR/Hard drive/Freeview box, and can get this one through Amazon for £341 delivered

I'm not bothered about Freesat as I've got Sky+ anyway, and may be upgrading to HD at the end of the year

Does anyone have one, or know anyone who has one?

Whats a VCR lol

I dug my VCR out the other day for the nipper to watch some vids, I couldn't even remember how it worked lol

I found rewinding the tape hilarious, it was all in vain though as the tracking was out

Back to blu-ray it was for us.

slighty ot and not much help sorry :(

My thoughts exactly

Strange - when my dad died a few years ago , I claimed his Panasonic VCR - was about three years old - and some years later it still works . Better than my JCV state of the art DVD player- which is just out of warranty - will play CDs,nit DVD s ,won't set up to record on timer - in other words a pole of Cr*p .Only thing my DVD player does is to let us watch Free view stuff when the Humax has two channels on record . Oh ,forgot to mention ,dad also had a 32 inch ,then state of the art flat screen TV -weighs a ton ,but sound and picture quality - excellent . Now for those decrying older technology - Sony have realesed figures showing their best selling product - 3.5 " FLOPPY DISCS . :wonder: :D:rofl:

I did, though haven't tried it to it's full potential yet

Only real comment so far is the time it takes to warm up - make sure you switch it on in plenty of time to record anything

Blimey Bryan, you must have money to burn!!! Is it that fat public sector pension?

I know, hence the FFS - someone started a thread on that recently, have you spotted it? :)

I do a bit of copying VHS to DVD for instance, for the grand children.

VHS old tapes get a white chalk like powder, which means the tape is degrading and on its last legs, and re-recording from it will be very poor result.

Recommend get a VHS recorder/player with/without remote control from a boot-sale £2.00/£5.00.

Get a head cleaner for the VHS recorder, E-Bay ideal place to look.

Definitely get a DVD recorder with built-in 'Freeview' and hard-drive is good move.

I run a Panasonic DMR-EX75 which has a tendency for laser failure after approx 500 hours dvd disc burning, and has a 160 GB hard-drive.

I have bought a replacement new Panasonic laser around £50.00 from E-Bay, still better than a £300 brand new machine.

If interested, look at 'AV FORUMS' under Panasonic DMR-EX75, you will see Panasonic DVD drives on several machines, are inter-changeable.

Note:- Look on E-Bay for Panasonic DMR-EX75 - EX85, yes old machines, but do read what they can do, love mine.
