I'm just as frustrated and dissapointed as you are about the delay on the car. It isn't coming through slowly because you've ordered a sunroof and they have put you to the back of the pack it's just that they've only got the ability to make X Yetis with sunroofs a week and the number of orders vastly exceeds X so they are building all the Yetis that where ordered with pano-roofs prior to you ordering yours and then eventually they build will catch up with the last few ordered with the roof option.

At least you finally have a build week, albeit a distant one....

I shall raise your unhappy forum smiley with a sad panda.

A build date 31 weeks after order is dreadful under any circumstances, and delivery probably around 36 weeks if Im lucky !!?? Not Skodas greatest hour really ! No smiley pandas or sunshine icons will alter that will it ??

That I have to say is pretty dire, approaching Morgan territory :( Hope you keep the faith though red however difficult it might be.

Also hope your dealer is sorting out some 'sweeteners' too

Regards as always,

TP

I want to echo Tim's sentiments - hang in there if you possibly can. I have never had to wait for a car before my YETI - but I have never EVER had a car that made me feel so complete when driving, before. Every single day when I get in to drive I feel just great, and a huge grin spreads across my face. Every SINGLE day.....

Ohh that was the good news guys !!! - had I spoken to my dealer on Thursday last, he would have informed me of my build date in FEB 2011 (50+ weeks) so the current build date was somehow moved forward from 50+ weeks to 30+ weeks !!!!!

Hmm maybe you are under the impression I was pleased at a build date of 31 weeks and delivery of 36+ weeks ?? It was intended as a sarcastic feeling of"whoo isnt that great, only 9 months wait for a new car !"

Im not smiling believe me.

not really i can understand your anguish at waiting so long, but it isnt only skoda suffering long waits...quite a few manafacturers are giving extended wait times, as no one is building cars to stand in dockyards for months/years as was the case not so long ago, we nearly bought another focus, but our ford dealer said it would be a 12-16 week wait..so we opted to wait longer for a car that HAS turned out to be worth the wait....if your truly that against waiting so long, go elsehwere?.......BUT U REALLY WANT A YETI DONTCHA ;)

Yes I would go elsewhere trouble is by the time I have test driven other cars, decided on a spec I want, order it, wait for it to be delivered, chances are I will be taking delivery about the same time as the Yeti so im knackered either way. Had they given me the build information earlier I would have had some options. They do now have a customer support programme for those suffering delays, so I am now at the mercy of that process but I think my wait is so long they will have to add another chapter to accommodate it !!

Cest la ve !!

Hi, I feel exactly the same having made enquiries on the ix35 auto which they think may be launched in November now, originally they said September, with a build period of 14 weeks ! The Yeti Elegance 1.2 DSG with sunroof I ordered on the 10th June had an anticipated Sept build date which then slipped to week 49, and today I have been told by the dealer it will be week 1 (2011) !! Its great to hear from the lucky ones that the wait is worth it, but at the moment I feel like throwing the towel in and telling them where to stick their Yeti. I also wrote to Pavel Radda, Head of Production for Skoda, 4 weeks ago asking for a personal explanation for the delays, and have I received a reply ? Like Heck I have. I do wonder whether Skoda really want any customers in the UK. With the dealer also telling me that he is now losing money on this deal I cannot say that my custom is appreciated by anyone in Skoda. I haven't cancelled my order yet - but I'm on the verge !

Sounds familiar !! I can only sympathise. What annoys me more than anything is that when there is a problem, between Skoda UK and the retailer they should have a structured approach which means that any delays after a certain time should be communicated to the customer with an apology, and an explanation of the problem causing the delay, and what they are going to do to alleviate it. Its being ignored and told nothing that winds me up most. Must admit im quite surprised they allowed you to order a sunroof in June ?? I got my order in beginning of May before the stop was announced, but yours is way after so you are lucky to be getting a sunroof (assuming you still are), as SUK told me they probably wont be re-introducing sunroofs as an option until November next year.

A mess really !

I also wrote to Pavel Radda, Head of Production for Skoda.

He's very rarely in the UK so if you wrote to him at the factory, I hope you wrote it in Czech!
