My Car STILL in Emden

Featured Replies

:( Talked to SUK and the stealer today, both said my car is STILL in Emden , has been there since 08/08/10 there have been at least 4 ships left emden for grimsby/newcastle since then, beginning to get annoyed , the car has been sat on the docks for 16 days that is flamin ridculous. I am gonna go over it with a fine toothcomb when i see it and if it aint perfect i am not gonna accept it , any rust i will be very unhappy. :(

Rust? Are you serious?

Considered that the factory is very busy, and shipping cant keep up with demand?

might be covered in bird crap :giggle:

Mine left Emden the end of last week and arrived in Grimsby yesterday....wonder why yours is delayed ?

That is the question i have been asking SUK, have not yet recieved a satisfactory answer.

When was yours built Starshot ?

must b a queue to get onto the ship.

factory is pumping out more than the number of allocated spots available on each ship, so the cars are having to sit on the dock, waiting for their turn to be loaded.

that's my guess.

and that sux big time if u ask me!!!

Don't know, had a nightmare getting any info from anyone. I guess yours will arrive soon though, can't sit there forever !

There's no logical reason why your car is still in Emden.

Mine was built 16th August and was in Grimsby 22nd August, so there can't be a backlog of cars to ship over. Two more shipments are due this week so you might be lucky.

Only problem now is getting the car to me. It's been a long 19 weeks wait so far.

Sniff,Bah Humbug .......etcetc

We's is having to take a 12 year old 223,000 mile motor on annual hols cos ours isnt del yet, only compensation is....there will no need to worry about the wing mirrors on those Cornwall lanes  Nor indeed any need to concern on'sself with her being stolen :giggle:

Hopefully should be ready for collection on our return. :)

Mine's been sat at Emden since 13th! So that's at least 2 VRSs covered in seagull ****! :giggle:

Maybe somebody parked them in the corner and forgot about em?....... :'(

More likely they've got a crap system for loading the ships which doesn't include first in, first out......... :swear:

The fast shall be last

quite right too

tee hee

Mine should have been a boat last week, but wasn't. Is supposed to be on this weeks boat. Time will tell. Its getting tight for delivery as promised next Wednesday as even when it arrives it still needs to go to a local speacialist to have the towbar fitted.

There was a transporter outside my dealer today as I passed heading from school, but didn't see mine on it. May already have been unloaded. Then again probably not!

Isar Highway is presently crossing the North Sea, according to SUK and the dealer (yesterday) my car should be on it. there have been at least 6 ships to and from Emden to Grimsby since 8th August. it must be mad both there and in Grimsby.

Lets hope it doesn't sink!

I would not be happy

Maybe its just the way they park them at Emden. About ten years ago I bought a Fiat Punto and only ordered metallic because the dealer said it was already in the country. Ended up taking eight weeks to get to the dealer because Fiat UK had to sell the other cars parked between mine and the gate before they could get it out the field it was parked in....

just learnt that cars go to the port closest to dealer ie Grimsby, Tyne or Sheerness.

Mine will dock at Tyne, so whereas Grimsby seems to get plenty of ships, the boat destined for Tyne must be significantly less often!! doh

have you had an update on yours recently?

Spoke to Dealer & SUK on friday, STILL sat in Emden now been there 20days, SUK said it "should" be on ship today/tomorrow going to Tyne. If it isnt on this ship , i may just cancel the order to reduce my stress and frustration.

hey I've just found our cars!!!

Skoda need to quickly come up with a system of loading the cars promptly in Emden. How daft is it to allow cars to sit quayside for weeks and at the same time to have Skoda UK Customer Services trying to deal with justifiable customer complaints and equally justifiable compensation claims based on those delays.

Skoda need to get to Emden and sort out their loading and shipping procedures. Surely they know the cost of customer alienation.

I hope your patience is not tested any further and that your car arrives very soon.

Mine should - hopefully - be arriving in the UK today.

Who knows.

I can well sympathise with the frustration here..When I bought mine it was already sat on the docks at Emden, waiting for a buyer, ie me in May this year...Took SUK a couple of weeks to get the thing to Grimsby and about 5 days from there to Leeds. The Skoda distribution system is chaotic and the dealers themselves have complained to Skoda..Mine finally arrived on a transporter the dealer wasnt expecting, and got the e mail half a day after it had arrived!!!!..............Organisation doesnt seem to be their strong point
