Superb mate, only think i can see that may give problems is the 3' inlet/outles unless you are gonna use 3' stuff or use reducers?

Awesome, someone is finally trying a Holset in a Skoda!

What you doing for an exhaust manifold?

nice turbo choice, would be good to see something different on our engines!

Prob is that FMIC will not be an equivalent to a forge item, its bar and plate which will flow but not cool as well as a tube and fin intercooler (which the forge is afaik).

Im doing it on a cheap budget, so whatever is the cheapest be it Fleabay/second hand is good 2me. I worked it out that its near enough the same build cost as the K04 set up

I offered it up 2 day but it needs abit of the crash bar cut out, So i was thinking do Forge sell the front crash bar separate or only as part of there Intercooler kit? :wonder:

They do it as an exchange item so they send you a modified crash bar with the kit and then you send them your old crashbar to get some of your money back. You'd have to talk to them about whether they can sell you one seperately. Might as well ask them for a MAP sensor pipe as well as you'll need one of those, I think they're about £30. They do them in 60mm or 63mm diameter

That manifold looks nasty! Probably won't last 5mins.

Pretty sure Badger 5 do a nice 20vT to T3 manifold. Infact here it is, pretty stunning: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=96316

I'd say equal length tubular, or unequal cast like this: http://www.ctsturbo.com/products/CTS_1_8T_T3_Turbo_Manifold-153-0.html or http://www.goapr.com/products/about_tvs3plus.html

I'm getting excited!

yup, i fully agree with bodge, it looks like cheap chinese cr@p, look at the welds inside the turbo flange, that would put me off alone. This will melt/crak/fall apart as i can guarantee it has not been welded properly on the inside and is still probably full of burrs and crap that will reduce flow anyway.

Buy one from the states, if the links bodge posts are no good try INA engineering.

The price may make It "look" crap, but don't throw it out of hand so quickly - I have personal experience of these on our 400+bhp GT3071 turbo Audi TT race car, it's on it's 3rd season of racing now..

In actual fact the welding is remarkably good considering :p My thoughts were the same to be fair originally, we only bought one to test if the turbocharger was going to do what we wanted before shelling out proper money on a manifold, bought one of these with an equivalently "top" quality ;) external wastegate for £85 pmsl :D . It ended up getting left on for a while as it wasn't misbehaving and we ended up seeing no reason to shell out many 100's £ until it broke. 3 years later we haven't spent another penny on manifold or wastegate..

However, all that said, using it on a road car doing much more mileage may well be a different story as far as reliability is concerned - yes we have welded a couple of cracks up in that time, but with the abuse we are giving it there's a lot of time that it's glowing very red! The worst thing about it in fact was the amount the flanges were out of true, but at the price it was a small job to machine them flat.

OK, there's no kidding ourselves, no manifold will be close to perfect for that money, but there's plenty of people will dismiss stuff as cr@p mainly because it doesn't cost enough, when in fact it can serve a purpose perfectly well for the price :D - it's a case of being realistic and considering how much you are willing to tinker with stuff to get what you want. I have seen £800 tubular manifolds cracked, so paying money is no guarantee.

...............sorry but the weld around the inner turbo flange looks terrible (that alone puts me off), outer welds look ok as have been polished and cleaned up.

The reason i can say this looks cr@p and no doubt will be cr@p is how can a properly made stainless manifold be made with a profit for £100.....believe me all my mods done are diy or secondhand and price is always a factor but new for £100 means that this cannot be made properly by hand to ensure that back purging (which takes time and time equals money) to ensure welds with good integrity has occurred up to the standards you would expect or need from a proper stainless manifold. I bet the material would cost not far off the list price alone.

If not properly back purged it will crack, as you have seen, reliability as you said is always an issue.....

Some things are worth scrimping on......manifolds IMo are not!
