Happens in mine as well but the fan barely pushes anything out on setting 1 for me! Should it be more powerful?

could be the resistor is broken and setting 1 is not working at all?

That sounds expensive... Is it? :(

if it is the fan speed resistor, look at the stick here

part is about £40 new from skoda or the company in the link will repair yours for about £15 i think it was (but you will be without a fan for a few days)

the aircon does not stay on in position 1 , fan works fine !

If it is the EVAP sensor a dealer will want to remove the dashboard to fit a new one but there is a guide on here to do it without touching the mian dashboard. The sensor is about £16 and it took me about 45 minutes to remove the old one and fit the new one.
