Sun Roof Operation

Featured Replies

Hello,

My 1999 Octavia has a factory fit sun roof. Having driven a Golf Mk4, I know that it has "single shot" operation for it's roof. To open it, close it or tilt it you just turn the switch to the appropriate setting and the roof does it's stuff. To do the same on my car you have to depress the switch continually until the roof is open or closed etc. It's always slightly bugged me having to sit there with my left arm in the air for seconds at a time and I was wondering if there is a way of updating my roof to the VW method.

These are two different types of slide/tilt sunroof.

The one you had in the Golf was the Webasto and had a rotary preselector switch.

The one you have in your Octy is the Rockwell which doesn't have the "single shot" function.

It MAY be possible to replace the whole Rockwell sunroof with the Webasto one, but I've never heard of anyone doing it.
