Replacing the MAF sensor? Help please.

Featured Replies

I am thinking that the MAF sensor on the Golf V6 is playing up and want to replace it. I know where it is, but am concerned about a few things!

1) There are some security screws on there i believe. Are these hard to get off?

2) Is it simply a case of "old one off and new one on"? As I have heard that the throttle body needs to be reset with Vag-Com and fault codes cleared etc etc? Is this ABSOLUTELY necessary?

3) Where is the cheapest place to get a new one? I have seen some with GSF and Eurocarparts for about £60 and OEM ones seem to be considerably more! Advice appreciated on this?

Thanks in advance

Get a complete air mass meter already mounted in its tube, its how Bosch etc designed them to be done as the sensor is calibrated in the tube (so they say anyhow) Should be about 65 exchange from VW.

Remind me of your reg plate on a PM and I'll look at a cost to get you one and then can do the VAG-COMing at the same time if you like.
