looking at this one

hey guys, was just wondering your opinions on this? after finding it i got very excited as its one of the younger ones with relatively low miles and silver :) and quite cheap for what they go for, upon research into the car it turns out its a CAT C damaged car. was just wondering on your views? how bad is CAT C usually and would this put you off?

here is is http://www.nicarfinder.co.uk/vehicle.php?v=DLR3427-69405&s=14010931&fp=1&i=3&c=4

its up for 5750, they usually go for anywhere between 6000-7000 so i think this is over priced for a cat c, i think the car would be worth 5 at a push? what do yous think? also if i went to have a lok at this what percuations should i take when buying a damaged car? thanks, jordan :)

Looking at the pictures in the Link. It looks like the rear seats are not the split seat arrangement, looking from the boot the rear seat back is one piece. Should also have cloth on it, same colour as the boot floor

Cat C - Heavily damaged but salvageable (May have suffered Chassis damage)

Cat D - Light Damage

It is over priced, and many people would turn away when you come to sell it simply because its a Cat C its not HPI Clear.

IMO I would advise stay away.. You could pick up a good example with average miles 60/70k on a 54/55 reg in the region of 5k

Please tell me its not that black dog thats been for sale since 2007??

Got something like 6700 miles on it

Wouldnt buy a cat c worth half value, wudnt pay mre than 3k on a cat c!

Infact i wouldnt risk my life in it

In the immortal words of Dr. Rev. Ian Paisley - NO!

Stay clear IMO

If I don't the work myself then I'd maybe go for a cat c. However, when buying used, I'd stick to undamaged cars. For £6,000 you can get a decent fabia, in clean condition.

I have no objection to buying a cat c, but certainly not anywhere near that price. They are having a giraffe! :D

As BT said nearer £3k IMO.

No idea whats going on with that rear seat and boot. Split seat has vanished??? The interior upholstery only came as a split so if it is in there looking like the original but not a split then somthing strange going on. Parcel shelf gone? Instead one of those pull across thingemybobs? I'd be asking serious questions on this one if I went for a look.

If you are serious then pay for an independant inspection first.
