Superb MY 2011 - Iphone bluetooth

Featured Replies

I have today taken delivery of my superb estate 4x4 elegance with the Columbus sat nav. The car was build week 29 and is the 2011 model year and the instruction manual indicates the availability of HFP and rSAP connectivity. However, tried to connect my iPhone and what you know it still doesn't connect. Anybody taken delivery of their new car recently and got their phone connected?

hi and welcome.

I took delivery of my car two months ago my phone nokia 6300 with 3g. The Columbus will not work with this network.i think its the only network it does not work with

i Had to take out new contract with o2, i am using nokia 6700 which works fine connected first time not sure if the i phone works with the Columbus.bill

I took delivery of my new Superb Elegance 2 weeks ago and my iPhone 3GS on Tesco O2 works just fine. All I had to do was activate the Bluetooth under the iPhone settings and it connected first time.

Tried it with my older Nokia, also on Tesco, and it works too.

May be it's because I have an iPhone 3G and not the 3Gs?

Looks like new a phone for you Simon hope you are near the end of your contract.

If we lived closer then I would have gladly let you try my phone in your car to test this assumption. Could you borrow someone's 3GS or 4 iPhone to check whether these work?

Currently driving a 60 plate Superb II whilst waiting for my VRS to be delivered the my iPhone 4 connected perfectly even with the nice touches as Bluetooth audio streaming working :-) Hopefully my new VRS will do the same.

Looks like it is just the first generation iphone then. Anyone managed to connect the original iphone?

What's this about Bluetooth audio streaming? I bought a cable to connect my iPhone to the Aux socket in the Superb, but maybe I don't need this?!

ill confirm my iphone 4 works too

Hi Daformah: you write "ill confirm my iphone 4 works too" - you didn't mean ill but meant to write I'll - but what do you mean?: you *will* confirm if the iphone 4 works (at some time in the future) or you *are* confirming that the iphone 4 works after having tried it?

Are you an English teacher? :)

I post a lot from my phone so you can expect many grammatical / spelling errors!

Anyway.... It works. See :-

I have tried an iPhone 3G and 4G on my new Superb Estate - neither work and according to the dealer's list, no Apple iPhones nor Blackberries are supported by the Columbus system in UK Superb cars. Big nuisance.

Was your Superb built before June 2010?

My car is build week 29 so has the updated unit that has HFP. It connects to my colleagues phone but not mine it is driving me wild. I also tried an alternative route. I connected a Nokia with rSAP, then went in the menu to make the car visible blutooth wise and then disconnected the Nokia and searched for devices. It picked up the car but only as a media player and then did not work. I wonder whether it has something to do with the firmware updates you get from Apple as mine is bang up to date where as my colleagues has never been update. AAaaaaargh.

Do you see text messages in the MFD with the hands free profile?

Picked up mine Sept 1.

Have had all sorts of phones connected without problem, but not tried iphone yet.

Blackberry Bold 9700 paired with rsap, so got full features including receiving/sending texts.

HTC Desire & Samsung Galaxy paired with hfp.

My wife and I have different Sony Ericssons. Both pair with ease (hfp)

Had no dropped connections.

I waited for the car before I change my phone, so I now have to decide. Android with hfp or Blackberry with rsap. Think I know which way I'm heading.

(Android must have rsap before long)

Just to add that my iPhone 3GS (which works on my new Superb) has the latest 4.02 version of the software installed. In case that helps you suss out the problem.

My iPhone 3G has the latest 4.02 firmware, so it is either my phone is goosed or the car is. I have just updated to the 4.1 firmware this morning and give it another go. I am wondering whether there is an issue with the earlier 3G phone as those who seem to connect are 3Gs and iphone 4! Anyone successfully connected an original iphone 3G?

Picked my new 2011 superb build v.32 yesterday. My iphone connected immidiately. Works like a dream.

SkodaUK rang me today to say that my Superb Elegance 4x4 170 is unlikely to pair with my iPhone 3gs. I am on BW40 Oct.4th.

All new superbs delivered now should work with the iphone, the skoda phone list is woefully out of date so take it with a pinch of salt. Loads of phones not on the list work perfectly with the new module.

I wish SkodaUK would get their act together and tell owners this. They rang me today to say that my BW40 Superb is unlikely to connect.

Sorry for being stupid, but how can we have a 2011 model out when we're not there yet?
