After you have been given a BW. In my case BW40, how long before you see your car?

From Skoda Uk today after I phoned them...................one week to build; 3 -4 weeks to ship across to dealer.

Thanks for that. It's worth keeping tabs on your order, my BW was brought forward by a week two days ago. The dealer seems to think the factory is buzzing. Just hope I don't get the Vodka Friday car! Enjoy your car when it arrives.

From my dealer today - he gave me a build week of 35 in July

I have gone "live" on the Skoda Locator System and it is showing, "scheduled to be built" Week 41, which means that it "should" be built week commencing 11th of October 2010.

I guess their production isn't being ramped enough.

Question: Can a dealer mod the spec before a build week - eg Would they offer a free upgrade of an option eg heated windscreen in return for the inconvenience?

You would need to ask your dealer, but in my case I added the heated windscreen after I ordered the car with no increase in lead time (I specifically stated that if it would delay the car then I would not add the option).

Apparently sometimes they need to cancel the whole order and place a new one ........... but can at times just amend the order.

He replied....

In my experience of late, if there are any extras added at this late stage, the build week will go back as far, Week 6 or 7 2011!!!

So it will basically cost you another £600+ as well as the cost of the screen due to the VAT being 20%.

Or buy a scraper!

I added to my order 5 weeks before the BW. The Leeds dealer said that was pretty much the cut-off time to change.
