Dont fall into the trap of listening to others or its a recipe for ending up with a car you might find wasnt your first choice - just go for what you want !

Well done matey, us brave souls will lead the way lol

Well, finally it's done! Avid readers will know of the agonies of indecision I have been through since ordering my SM (4x4 170 CRD Elegance with sat nav, TPM rough road pack and mats/mudflaps) four weeks ago, at that time specifying Cappuccino plus Onyx. Since then (and having seen all the pictures on this wonderful site) I have wondered about white, steel grey, muscavado, even tangerine - but was homing in on a Gobi interior for additional lightness/brightness inside (couldn't put up with the wait for a sunroof - or even justify the cost, really). Then on the Skoda used car website I saw a second-hand SM in Muscavado/Gobi at the Middlesbrough Skoda dealer (I'm dealing with Darlington), so decided to make the 2.5 hour return trip (with SWMBO) to view it. It was lovely - and what's more, we both agreed! So, home via Darlington and changed my order, adding the electric memory seat and variable boot floor at the same time. The dealer had build week 48 (which he hadn't bothered to let me know) and says my changes may push it back into January: but that's fine - apart from the frustration of wanting to get my hands on the SM asap, my road tax runs to the end of February, my front tyres will just about last until then as well, and I have an agreed trade-in for my Octavia Scout, irrespective of how many miles I put on it (and in fact I'm driving it to northern Spain and back in the next month!). So now I can stop worrying about colours, additional toys, etc. and wait for the exciting New Year present! To round off a good morning, I passed for the first time ever a Yeti fairly locally - a Pacific Blue (I guess) specimen, driving from the direction of Leyburn entering Catterick Garrison.

Well done Andrew! Yihay! Your mind is at rest! Great colour choice. Now just hope there are no more tasty options to be added in the next few months like MDI, or free servicing, or gold plated indicators, or free sunroofs! emoticon-0140-rofl.gif Hehehe. Just kidding.

Enjoy the wait!

Having placed my order last month, I am now in something of a quandry over my colour choice - Black Magic.. There was a pretty good thread about colours a while back...

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/140459-snow-monster-colours/

Trouble is, everytime I see a pic of a SM in a different colour I get more and more uncertain that I have picked the right one. By turns I decide that Candy White, Aqua Blue, Muscovado or Cappuccino look better but I can't decide!

I should add that my wife is rather more decisive than me and is convinced Black is the right colour.

Should I:

A. Stick with Black, it gives the SM a classy look (esp with those silver roof rails)

B. Change to <insert colour here> because Black is a colour only for hearses / taxis / drug dealers

C. Get a life... and start worrying about something more important (e.g. whether to upgrade the sound system)

Don't choose black, it's a right pain in the arse to keep clean.

  • 2 weeks later...

... it will make you smile every time you see it... how can that be anything other than the correct choice!

I'm sure it will  Overall I do feel that Yeti looks good in pretty much any colour and 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.

PS> sorry for the delayed contribution I've been away.

Drat!!

I missed the chance to change my colour of car and interior by 1 day!

I was going to change to Capuccino and Gobi, but today the system said No! The dealer was good, phoned SUK, who checked with the factory, but no go, my original choice is locked in.

If only I'd gone over to the dealer yesterday.

Oh well, I did like the steel grey as well, but I'd not seen a heated front screen, until today, in the flesh and it shows up when I'm wearing my specs. I hope my eyes eventually dial it out.

The good thing is that it will be built soon now, so I should get it this year.

Sounds like you might get yours before meemoticon-0106-crying.gif,despite ordering several weeks before you.

I'd have been fine with waiting for it Mike, no problem. Its presumably my lower spec than yours and petrol engine that has meant an earlier build date.

I should have gone over to the dealer yesterday instead of waiting till today. ( kicks self :giggle: ) I had no idea the build date was so imminent.
