Steering Problem

Featured Replies

What's wrong?

Got two front tyres fitted today at ATS and they aligned the steering saying it was +1 and s/b +5. I know the tracking did pull slightly to the left beforehand.

Now if I release the steering wheel the car still pulls a tiny bit to the left (could this be the camber of the road?) but more irritatingly the steering wheel is not straight - if I hold the steering wheel straight I move quite sharply to the right! Have I got two problems or just one and where would you go to sort it properly?

thanks

Mark

They have incorrectly set the tracking. Both track rod ends need to be adjusted equally to maintain steering wheel alignment. Every Fabia I have driven pulls slightly to the left though.

Take it back to ATS and get them to re-track it with the steering wheel straight, as they should have done the first time.

DB.

My 2005 Fabia VRS has always pulled left, Skoda said something about torque steering and was a trait for my model.

Tyres always wear evenly, and never had a real issue with it.
