OK, so who fancies a BRISKODA exclusive trackday @ Llandow?

Featured Replies

Another feeler thread. Hoping this gets more interest due to it being BRISKODA only!

The date will be a Friday at some point - Cost to be decided but with the circuit only costing £1,762.50 to hire for the day, we would only need 25 cars for the cost per car to be just £70 for the WHOLE day! Not just 15 minutes!

Anyone interested? Would work like normal trackdays - open pit lane, probably early session basis in groups based on experience. Usually no more than 10 cars on track at a time, but you will have around 7 hours of track time to use and you won't want to use it all. ;)

I for one AM THERE! :D If I were to pick a date now, I will provisionally say 26th November, but I have not approached the circuit in regards to this as obviously with nearly a £2,000 bill to cover, I don't want "half-assed" commitments.

I'd love to do it but can't commit due to starting a new job in a few weeks. Sorry J :(

I am very interested, however will have to wait to confirm for now. £70 is a bloody good deal though and should not be turned down without serious thought!!

any chance of putting some of the track details down please or pm them to me

The track is a very small, but still testing, approx 1 mile circuit. Located in South Wales a few miles west of Cardiff somewhere.

The silence is SO loud, I can hear it. ;) I didn't think there would be much excitement about this. There is an £80 day on 23rd October which I just might go to on my own to have some fun.

There is a review of the track Here (from 2007)

Do you know if a race license/helmet/firesuit required for their "Exclusive Hire" days ?

Its' a tempting idea, but I guess the place is a bit of trek to get for lots of people ...

Nah - normal trackday stuff I reckon. :)

It looks awesome and a great deal - but I think I'm going to have to wait a few more months before I tell/ask the mrs about a 2nd track day!

Have a great one though :)

Done several trackdays at Llandow, it's a great little track, I'm up for it.

  • 3 weeks later...

did not see this post until now.

quick answer is yes as £70 for the whole day is a bargin!

But a confirmed yes will have to wait until next week after my interview if it goes well next week then my name is down for sure.

Well, still not even close to enough interest to make this viable yet :( In the meantime I have booked on a "diesel day" at Mallory Park on 19th November being organised by TDOCUK. Worth a look if you fancy blasting your derv around Mallory Park in Leicestershire ;) www.doughnutters.com <----- organisers.

26th november.....my birthday!!!!

im a complete trackday virgin......my biggest fear is wipe out with no insurance, im awaiting a call from an insurance company quoting through trackdayz so may be intersted as it woul be a nice birthday pressie from me to me :giggle:

Devon....you seem to do plenty trackdays, do you get insurance and do you know a ballpark figure for a days insurance?

I don't bother. I never drive to the point where I risk hitting something else / someone else. Usually 99% of other trackday attendees do the same. Costs of a days insurance are quite high, with huge excesses, so for me, they are an uneconomical thing to even think about.

I think this may be too tempting and too close to home for me not to attend! I'm only 40 mins away in the valleys and its only 5 mins from where i work. :D

afraid i'll have to wait till closer to the date to commit tho,as i'm currently being made redundant so money may be an issue! :'(

may pop down for a look if you do one in october.

Well it is unlikely to actually get organised. I have paid my £99 for Mallory Park the week before, so think my car will need a rest :D

It's a shame but I can't say I'm surprised that there haven't been many takers.

The only thing stopping me (and I suspect many others...) from doing the whole trackday thing,

is the fact that if you're reliant on your car for real life driving, to and from work, picking the kids

up, shopping etc

Then the posssibilty of a blown turbo, knackered clutch, DMF, set of tyres, possible crash damage and the like

are risks most normal people aren't prepared to take. At the end of the day we need our cars for real stuff

rather than pretending to be racing drivers.

If your £80 day out hooning around a track may potentially end up costing

you 4 figures it's quite normal to be reluctant to take the chance, especially when money is

thin on the ground for most people right now.

Also most of us don't have access to a workshop and equipment or have the technical know

how to fix things ourselves.

Sad but true :(
