5W-30

Featured Replies

Quick question, I just ordered a service pack from Opie and the oil selected for my 2004 Fab vRS is 5W-30, I'm sure Iv'e always ordered 5W-40 in the past? is this correct before I feed it 4 litres of the stuff, maybe oil specs have changed without me noticing it? Surely there website cannot be wrong for such a reputable oil supplier?

Thanks, John

iirc there is 501 spec of 5w30 that's suitable for PD engines

Im running gulf 5w30 fully synth from opie its fine

Thanks guys, think I'm just being overly sensitive after my injector problems! :)

As you know it should be a 5W-40 and 505.01.

However I think the newer spec 507.00 (5W-30) can be used.

Note 3:

Skoda Customers Services have confirmed that spec VW 507 00 oil is also suitable for the Fabia vRS. The thread below includes oils which meet that later spec.
