Superfast Cars

Featured Replies

Why are Superfast Cars limited to 155mph, Why not 150 or 160mph?

Enyone Explain!!!!

It's a voluntary agreement between European manufacturers IIRC - introduced in the 90's to stop governments imposing their own.

Picked because it equates to 250kph - arbitrary really and quite a few manufacturers decided to ignore it, like the Italians and Porsche :D

As above.

It was the time when environmental issues were coming to the fore and the manufacturers felt that crazy top line speeds would do their cause no good, hence this introduction.

I'm pondering whether to go for a de-limit on mine. A great waste of money though so doubt I will.
