Forte diesel cleaner

Featured Replies

I recently switched to forte diesel cleaner from using Morris lubes morendo cleaner which i'd used for 12 months. The difference between the two products speaks volumes in the results.

I bought a 400ml bottle of forte and the instructions state 400ml treats 100 litres of fuel, although i have read some people on other forums putting a full bottle of forte to treat their 45-55 litre tank, which is probably a dumb thing to do due to the concentration.

I used just under 200 ml on my first attempt and the balance on my next fill up but i made sure I vented the fuel valve to get a bit more fuel in. The results have been excellent but do not expect the results to come immediately. A few days after using forte, I finally got a decent 120 mile run on the Motorway and found when I pretty much floored it in 6th getting upto high speeds smoke started pouring out of the exhaust. After 10 seconds the smoking stopped and since then its not smoked when loaded , despite me attempting to recreate the smoke by doing high speeds and high revving in various gears and in 6th not seen any smoke.

I always fill up with bp ultimate diesel so the fuel hasn't changed so the only thing that has changed was the additive

I highly recommend forte but probably won't buy another bottle for a few months as it seems to be pretty hardcore. Unlikely you'll see a gain in performance i.e. bhp as it doesn't increase the cetane level.

My Indy does this as part of the annual service.

As you say, I had a smoky 10 mnutes on the

way home and after that I noticed a reduction in overall smoke.

A good review.

I always use the Millers additive, DSP4 and now Ecomax. You only use 50ml per 50l (You can double dose it), so a bottle lasts 10 or more tankfulls. DSP4 was the same ratio, but 40ml per 40l. A bottle costs £10-£14.

ive started to alternate betwean, millers [as above] and dipatane [just because people at work were raving about it] cant really notice any difference betwean them tbh emoticon-0148-yes.gif

i use forte too highly recommended

What's Dipatane when it's at home, never heard of it.

So where do you get it from?

Forte say they only supply to the trade and not retail.

ebay or know someone thats a trader :giggle:

You will probably find the good run and driving in that manner cleared a bit of soot out anyhow.

As Skoda (and VW in general) advise against any additives ive not used any myself, never felt the need.
