Remote Window Closing

Featured Replies

Hello,

I remember reading of a way to reprogram the convenience controller (not by adding a 3rd party device like the alientech) to enable remote window opening and closing by holding lock/unlock on the fob on the MK1 Octavia. IIRC, it required a serial diagnostic connector (not a VCDS lead) and some special but free software.

Searched. Can't find. Help please!

The link was to this software you have to register to get free activation . http://www.motordiag.cz/mkm/index.php

you will need the cheap kkl /vagcom type cable.

Sorry but I've only just noticed this reply; thank you very much!

This is done very quickly and easily with VDS-Pro.

A 2 minute job!

Do you mean VCDS?

If so, really? How?

If not, what's VDS? :)

No, not VCDS, an old DOS based program called VDS-Pro.

Well 'd just like to report that, with particular thanks to Ant for supplying the software, the procedure worked first time on a MacBook Pro running Windows7. No drivers were needed for the "ebay special" usb cable I bought.

Thanks TKW, glad you got it working ok.
