Anyone else heard or experiencing problem with manual tailgate ?

Mine is catching bumper and wearing a line on bumper and bottom of tailgate.

From day one it always shut with a thud but I thought nothing of it. Spoke to dealer who without looking is blaming it on the towbar fitment. I don't think this is the case just an easy cop out !

if the bumper was removed to fit the tow bar, it may not have been put back on correctly.

Pretty sure it is back on ok, it's been like it from day 1.

Towbar was fitted after 4 weeks by our fitter at work.

Bumper was removed, bumper support removed, Westfalia detachable fitted and bumper re-fitted.

How can you adjust bumper ???

another possibility is the tailgate catch just needs a little re-adjustment. Does the superb estate have those rubber bungs you screw in/out in each corner?

No corner bungs but 2 buffers that stop against buffer on light cluster.
