Now then peeps. Ive just bought one of these and have a 'little' issue.

At first all seems well. i can get video on the go. all the features of the stereo seem to work.

When i tried to navigate for the first time, it calculates the route but the maxidot says in off road, when I'm not. The map updates and stays with the car but if i stray off the planned route it never recalculates. The car knows where i am but the maxidot does not.

I have taken it out and all works well. not sure what it could be blocking. i know people have bought and used these devices without issue.

What do we think? apart from the fact i shouldn't have one installed and its not safe etc

These devices work by blocking the canbus signals from getting to the headunit. The MFD3 relies heavily on these for its navigation, so fitting one means that the system cannot navigate properly. The reason is because the MFD3 relies on both the speed pulse and other canbus signals as well as GPS for navigation. The GPS is only periodically checked, as in normal use its only needed to check occasionally where it is. Without the canbus data you will appear offroad, or jump along the road, or even miss junctions you need to take.
